Today's humanitarian ceasefire was violated within 2 hours of its start. So the Hamas are not interested in a ceasefire. Also just before today's ceasefire started Hamas militants tried to enter Israel in order to kidnap Israelis to use as a bargaining chips.
There was nothing for the Arabs to violate. They were under no legal obligation to accept a General Assembly proposal.
If there was nothing to violate, then why did the armies of all the surrounding Arab countries enter the Mandate in 1948? It wasn't mandated to them. By the end of their incursion they took and annexed two regions of the mandate into their countries.
If there was nothing to violate, then explain the All-Palestine Government that was established a few months after the Israel Government was established. And about a decade later dissolved the All-Palestine Government. And the UN said and did what? Go ahead and explain it.
Israel will likely start moving tanks in to Gaza as soon as the "pause" is over. Hamas is still firing rockets, never really stopped, obviously wanting to get more Palestinians killed just to try and gain world sympathy for their Jihad.
There is a difference here for a few reasons. Some of the Palestinian Arab families in Gaza have Egyptian roots. Also Egypt controlled Gaza between 1949-1967 which begs the question why Egypt didn't give them independence at that time. I am suggesting opening the Egyptian border for humanitarian reasons and for helping the people that were under their government's control not that long ago.

Actually Hukumat 'umum Filastin (Palestine Gov't)was established in September of 1948,but it covered the entire mandate including what was known as Israel. Egypt dissolved it about a decade later.

Israel has had it or so it appears. They will roll tanks, blow up some stuff, and then go back and start all over again in a few years. How it always goes it seems.

The reality is these rockets are about as good as the ones you would make in your own backyard. They have no guidance systems and pack only a tiny warhead. Yes, Israel should respond but no the rockets aren't all that powerful and when they hit something its more a matter of luck than skill. Those are facts even if you don't like them.
There is very little damage from the rockets fired from the Gaza, not very effective rockets compared to Israel's.
