Hamas puts its operations IN the middle of populations... schools, hospitals, etc. they know that they are putting their children and all other civilians in danger. They transport their equipment in ambulances that are filled with children, using them as human shields! They don't care about their own people! In fact, if these casualties take place, they use it to their advantage and scream to the world "look at what Israel has done!"

It's barbaric to intentionally use your own people -- and children -- as shields.

This is to keep Israel from attempting to destroy their military installations in order that they (Hamas) can keep shooting at Israel unhindered. All they would have to do is stop blasting Israel! Israel gives warning to the population to take evacuate and shelter. Who else does that? Does Hamas do that for the benefit of the Israelis?

Israel is not interested in harming the people. All they want to do is take out the military capabilities of Hamas. Makes good sense, since nothing rational they've tried with Hamas works.

You get a more accurate picture of what is going on in Gaza with data reported by humanitarian agencies, instead of biased media (and all media is biased.)

Maybe they need to tell Hamas to stop then. Until then they will keep getting killed. Israel isn't firing off the first shot Hamas is. You don't seem to care though just squeal the liberal nonsense about the poor defenseless pals. Gimme a break.

It's pathetic. These clowns want a war but hide behind it. Just go and leave, like you say, the women and children alone. But that won't make the headlines to get folks wailing.

The Gaza is densely populated with lots of urban structure. If Hamas wanted to fight back, they could do a lot of damage to the IDF. It would be like the battle of Mogadishu. There are lots of places to hide, many angles to attack from.
Israel has been warning the people in Gaza to go to the city centers - the Israelis are going after the rocket launchers, tunnels (many of which now go to Israel & Lebanon), the weapons depots and both Hamas and Islamic Jihad headquarters. Most of these are in the villages and outside of Gaza city.

IDF warns citizens of Gaza to evacuate to populated city centers - July 17, 2014

Teams of Hamas are coming through the tunnels into Israel to fight, there is also fighting on the border.

IDF unearths 22 Gaza tunnels, kills 40 terrorists as ground offensive enters second day - July 18, 2014

The air force hit 103 targets overnight between Thursday and Friday, including 20 underground rocket launchers, and 6 terrorist headquarters. Since the start of the operation, the IAF struck 2,150 targets, including 1,160 underground launchers, 200 command and control centers, nine training camps, and 43 Hamas regime buildings.
The IAF also struck rocket launching squads as they were preparing to fire into Israel, the source added.

The Israeli Intelligence is very good - they know where the targets are and they have been investigating the tunnels for about 3 years. They can do the targeted strikes. It's not going to be easy for Hamas and Islamic Jihad to replace either the weapons or the tunnels this time. There is a change in the dynamics in the Mid East/MENA - there are now people in Egypt that are calling for strikes on Gaza. That's a big change - the Muslim Brothers and Hamas are very unpopular with a lot of neighbors. None of it means they suddenly like the Israelis, but it's not the Israelis that have been killing Egyptians - it is the Muslim Brothers and their cousins ... Hamas/Islamic Jihad.

There is at least one Israeli death due to missile fire:

It's not a symmetrical situation.
no it will end when the israelis eventually succeed in their slow starvation process of the pallestinian populuation , it may take another two decades but seeing as it has the full support of the american goverment , it can carry on

israel means to have all of gazza and the west bank eventually , its likely to succeed , when it does , city data members will be telling the rest of us that that gazza never belonged to the pallestinians in the first place
