Yep, like him. I'm not sure why so many people have a hard time understanding that individuals with different ideas, opinions and such make up political parties. I don't agree with Michael Moore and his tactics. Why is that ROTFLAMO-worthy?

I think the administration and the MSM want you to be angry.
They want you to think the wealthy pay no taxes and suck the life out of everyone under them.
A mere $200K a year should put visions of yachts, huge stock portfolios and wallets bulging in cash in your heads.
Then say it's "only fair" they pay more.

Seems to be working.

As far as:

By income level, I can be considered poor but knowing what I know of real poverty, working with actual poor people, etc I don't feel poor. I feel very blessed. Part of the reason I feel this way is because of what we have, where we are in our lives and the amount I can contribute to others.

So yes, I DO feel lucky.
Obamabot is name-calling? Oh gosh, sorry. Obama supporter, then.

Sounds to me like you make too much money to be receiving government assistance. I don't think Mother Theresa collected Food Stamps.

Exactly right. Class warfare as outlined by Cloward & Piven, the Marxist Professors from Columbia University.

It isn't about making people financially equal. It is about giving everyone equal opportunity.

This.

There is such pushback to cut EVERYTHING that helps expand OPPORTUNITY for those on the lower economic rung.

Where would so many "self made men" be without the following:

1) Universal, public education, K-12;
2) Pell grants and federal student loans;
3) Government insured deposits;
4) Government backed mortgage loans and insurance;
5) Federally subsidized higher education, community colleges, universities and trade schools;

etc. etc. etc.

The unusual desire among so many Americans who fancy themselves "Patriots" to establish and entrench a new Aristocracy in America is mindboggling. The United States is now no longer the top tier in terms of economic mobility among western nations.

A true meritocracy scares them to death. There is so much wasted talent bred on the lower ends of the economic scale.

Yep, Mother Teresa was supported by the church, it is the ppl she helped, those huge masses living and dying in abject poverty, ignored by the fellow countrymen that ARE THE ISSUE. FYI, she and her meager resources were completely overwhelmed by the situation. Her DETERMINATION in the face of the masses and the lack of aid were what made her famous. If the aid matched their need you and I would never have known her name.

We have made a decision as a society, as a nation, not to be like that, if we have ppl with need we give them aid, get use to it.

If you don't like supporting the underclass support legislation mandating full employment at a living wage. Nobody in this country should want for a paying job, and they shouldn't qualify for government aid while working a full time job. Mandate hiring, tax credits for new jobs created, public works where needed. Time to get 8 hours pay for 8 hours work. Put cash in the lower half's pockets and it will go right back into the economy and tax revenues at all levels will rise. Then we can begin to talk about taxing everyone, as things are today, taxing the poor's payday loans isn't going to have a meaningful affect in the budget and it will turn middle America into the masses of Calcutta.

60% of the budget goes to entitlement programs. Taxing the rich will not change these people's lives.
That figure will just grow bigger each year. What do you plan to do..tax more each year ?

Taxing people more to subsidize a growing underclass will do absolutely nothing to stop the downward spiral of American society.

60% includes "Entitlement programs" such as Social Security and Medicare, which aren't exactly the kind of leeching off society programs, but instead programs people have paid into their entire lives.

And again: Taxes today, and as proposed by Democrats and Congress are simply resets to about pre-Bush era tax cuts (the idiocy of cutting taxes during an unfunded war) --- and are and would remain near historic lows.

Income inequality and continued yawning gaps between rich and poor does NOT MAKE A SUSTAINABLE ECONOMY. Not surprising, however, that too many wealthy people are too shortsighted or flat out dumb to see past the next quarterly statement to not see what challenges the future will pose to their business model, safety and wealth.

History is repleat with wealthy and confiscated fortunes of those who didn't get their message until their heads were on poles.

Wrong, SS, Medicare, unemployment insurance, RR retirement, most public employee pensions and maybe others are USER FUNDED programs that are not in the budget, they do not spend funds that come directly out of the general fund.

Funny how the economy will withers and dies when you take all the money out of the middle class consumer economy and put it into the bank accounts of billionaires. You'd think these smart money ppl would understand that and know that too much greed isn't a good thing.
