Well, I love my hunting firearms and WW2 era weapons that have been passed down to me from my father who was in WW2 and Korea. I have a particular Belgium Browning A-5 12 gauge shotgun that I have used for decades Duck hunting that I wouldn't get rid of for the world. I have my favorite deer rifle, a 270 that I have used for years that enables me to kill deer every year in order to fill my deep freeze for the winter with venison. Yes.............I love my guns, all of them. They are vital to my needs.
If you love these guns because they were given by your father and have sentimental value, that's one thing.
But to have a passion about guns in general is something different. Surely you can see the difference
This discussion isn't about whether the 2nd amendment gives you the right to bear arms. It's about people who are passionate about their guns. Gun nuts.
It's one thing to own a gun, it's another to be in love with it.
Well, let's see.... I'm passionate about my family, I'm passionate about my politics, I'm passionate about my cars, I'm passionate about my guns, I'm passionate about my country, so which kind of nut am I? Now I'm more confused than ever... You are going to create an identity crises for me..

Awesome, but this thread isn't about those passions, nice try at deflection.
Anyone that loves guns and denies that they make them feel powerful is dishonest.
The only logical reason why anyone would "love" a piece of metal that is designed to kill or maim is the sense of power and self esteem it gives the owner.

I don't love my gun. but my neighbor's neice loves the fact I have it.
She came home at 2 something in the morning, her aunt was at work, and their front door open. She came and got me, I went over, end result, we turned a burglar over to the police. Who KNOWS what would have happened had she gone in alone. but for the fact I was armed with a P345, it could have been a different outcome altogether. He was armed with a knife, not a good defense against a gun, he was hauled off to jail, I put my trigger lock back on, and placed the gun back in my safe.
