What did it accomplish? Did it reduce violence? Did it cause crime rates to fall?

The AR-15 fires the .223 Remington cartridge. An example of a cartridge used for hunting would be a .30-06.

My daughter shoots a .223, and it is no way an AR-15.
It is more accurate than my 30.06, and I would rather use it to hunt around here with, where a shot is less than 100 yards.

Not sure of "it", as the cause for the reduced violence rates since it was unbanned, but violence rates have been coming down yearly, since its unbanning.

I think this is an important question.

Thanks

To sign an executive order would be treason.

If Obama wants to go down in History as the first American president busted for treason. Let him change or ban the 2nd and find out what the 2nd is about directly, because on Earth as it is now there is no place to run...

He will have broken the oath. hell he already has and IMO IS the enemy, that catchy one Domestic....

So sure let him...... That will make Biden president, and you know about Biden and his CHAINS!

Funny NH disagrees with you Rick. The .223 doesn't suit me as a deer round either, but it certainly is legal in NH to take deer with it. There are lots of less powerful rounds to take deer with legally too, like the Winchester 30-30 a short to mid range cartridge which in modern times may hold the record for the most deer in any cartridge to date.

Oddly this is very similar to that other round grabbers say has no sporting use the 7.62 x 39 known to be the cartridge the Ak-47 uses..... A short to mid range cartridge, certainly not a high power round the media make it out to be.

Knowing Obama he will likely put this in the lap of Congress to ban high capacity clips, or assault weapons all together. No leadership. No sticking his neck out. And I really doubt he would use the "sporting purposes" clause of the gun act to limit them by executive order. He craves the acceptance of elites, and want to prove to them he's one of them.

Actually, they've been coming down since before the ban, continued to fall during the ban, but not at an increased, and continued to fall since the ban sunsetted.

Studies were done. That's why the ban didn't get renewed. It was concluded that it had no significant impact on crime or murders. Considering ALL rifles, including so-called "assault weapons" as well as "non-assault weapons" kill fewer than 400 people a year, it makes sense, because 400 is such a small amount in the big picture, it's less than the amount of statistical randomness.

Fury and sound... Signifying nothing.
