This case scenario is better than an having a child raised by a single mom collecting welfare. Some kids grow up with god-mothers and god-fathers in addition to their parents, and no one finds it confusing. An extra parent is extra love.
I know MANY kids like that who come from traditional families.
Yeah, if the kids with gay parents were the only ones getting knocked up in high school or otherwise messed up, kids these days would be in GREAT shape.
My sister and her partner have been in a monogamous, loving relationship for 20 years. In fact, they are pillars of the community. One is a DA for a county in the Midwest, the other is the head of the HR dept of a large university.
Together they raised my sister's partner's son. He is now 21, highly successful, perfectly well-adjusted and it just so happens, completely hetereosexual.
They are the very picture of a strong, loving, supportive family. From my network of friends and through my sister I know many gay couples, many of which are raising wonderful children themselves.
I can see that having three names on a birth certificate in this way might cause some legal hassles down the road, but the sexual orientation of a parent, of course, has no bearing on hw a child will turn out. Only ignorant bigots think stupid crud like that.
I coach softball. I have one girl who has a Lez mom and a peter puffer dad. I actually went to school with the dad and had no idea he was gay. He dated an old girl friend of mine 9th grade.
Anyway, this child is so confused and has no drive in life. Her hair changes color weekly, looking for attention. She is in 10th grade now and has had an abortion already. She has a different boy friend weekly.
When she was younger, I would correct her on the softball field during a game and she would start balling and shut down. No self esteem and no self control.
...and i know some one similar who i went to high school with that had two loving heterosexual parents, and has spent 5 years living on the streets of LA. Stories about one kid does not mean anything.
Detailed decades long studies have shown no difference in outcomes for kids. The only difference they found was treatment by other kids raised in homes full of intolerance and bigotry.
Where's your proof? Can you show any stats where children of gay parents grow up to be criminals or with mental issues? All those recent high profile shootings were pulled off by shooters who have heterosexual parents, maybe we should ban parents of different sexes.
Once again the topic degenerate's into something that the story isn't about. Granted, it was lead by stupid statements but the article is about adding people to a birth certificate. I tried to discuss that and the problems it will create but it seems no one is wanting to discuss that.
On evening while tailgating in a full Philadelphia Phillies parking lot before a game, a lesbian couple walked through full out dressed in pro-gay apparel. Following behind were their sons.....with rainbow backpacks with lesbian gay symbols on them. The boys were about 10-12 years old and were very, very embarrassed looking.
Not a healthy lifestyle for those boys. I felt terribly sorry for them.
What exactly do you perceive as "decadent"? The donating of sperm or two people that love and care about each other raising and caring for a child that belongs to them?
Personally, I find it weirdly indulgent to comb the internet for stories that get your panties in a twist.
