Actually, that's a very appropriate age to point out the differences between boys and girls - especially if they ask questions, like my 3yo nephew is doing lately. Did you only have girls or boys?
I have one of each...20 months apart. They never asked so why would I say anything to them about that at such an early age. It was a non issue to them.
No wonder why there are so many gays now. We're all unisex...
Wow... I think your parents stopped the discussion a bit too soon, or left out the parts regarding gender vs sexual orientation. Seriously, get an education!

Most kids do start asking around that age, so it's perfectly normal. Maybe your kids developed that line of thinking a bit late? Not to say that's a bad thing, but I guess every kid develops in different ways! I have studied childhood development in detail, btw, since it was part of my Master's Thesis (how different stages of development pertain to library services & materials).
Oh, I believe what he said happened. Philly fans, especially the one's that tailgate can be brutal. If the kids felt embarrassed it was probably more to do with the fact of being eyed over rather then being embarrassed by their parents. I would imagine kids raised by gay parents get their fare share of bullying as well, which is a damn shame.

What
"education" might that be. Two men or two women CANNOT make a baby? Um, uh...yeah...right.

No, the education regarding how gender and orientation aren't the same thing. And kids with gay parents can still learn how babies are made, btw. Unlike many right-wing bigots, they don't seem to filter or neglect teaching all the basics at a certain age.
But no matter how many examples we give, or how many studies (from reputable sources) are offered, they will continue believing otherwise. If anything, you have to give them credit for tenacity!
