I was hoping that this would give the parents of the excluded students a opportunity to start a whites only tutoring program, only to see the non whites cry racism after the whites tutoring program yielded higher grades than them.
Either way a public school program that discriminates based upon race, or ethnicity is blatantly illegal.
It doesn't appear to be a "public school program," it is a volunteer/parent-run after-school program. I used to work in an after-school program, and we basically set our own rules... the school where it was held didn't tell us what to do, as long as nobody was causing a disturbance. (and no, we didn't discriminate - it was an incredibly diverse group of students & staff)
I'm quite sure hammertime can spell principal, considering he spelled it correctly in every other post... funny how you didn't correct monkeywrenching for misspelling it twice, though.

That is correct ovcatto. Here is the public schools policy: But this was a alternative tutor program

Yeah he said it was a 'misunderstanding', but who writes a memo that says the program is open to all students of color? Imagine the outrage if the memo said it was closed to all students of color.
I do not see the words "of color" in the principal's letter.
I have 6 or 7 friends who teach in that district. Maybe I'll ask and see if they know Mr. Pearson.
Oh, and Mr. Pearson is ex-military ('93 Air Force Academy graduate). As a soldier yourself, maybe you should take him at his word that this was just a stupid misunderstanding??
Sounds like the principal got caught playing BS games and had to "clarify" to save their job. Don't worry as evidence in this thread the liberals will jump to his defense. Now if it were the other way around they would be outside his home calling him a KKK member declaring he be shot for discrimination.
