They should announce who it is shortly. I had to laugh--my very Catholic (and normally polished) mother in law called me to tell me, and her first comment was that it needs to be someone who will "kick butt and take names." There needs to be serious, deep changes in the politics of the church...
So much for my having sent my resume to the Vatican! I knew I should have delivered it in person. I guess the Cardinals never actually got it. Probably lost in the mail. I even included a photo of my own red shoes, so the Church could save some money (actually white sneakers, but I had a red Marks-O-Lot handy).
Whelp, hoping nothing but the best for the catholic church. Be better than you were in the past, stop it iwtht he idiotic scandals. (While you're at it, keep it up with supporting evolution]
Who cares? Sorry, I'm an atheist, I have no interest. And a coworker just sent a department wide email about it. I do believe that's inappropriate.
The popes actions, decisions, commentary have enormous social and political repercussions on all of us non-catholics whether we like it or not. To me the announcement is no different than finding out who Canada's new PM is etc etc etc.
Depending upon your industry, the news could even impact business issues.
No change. Getting sick and tired of that organisation.
