so, whats your point?

anybody can say they are catholic. saying your catholic and living that lifestyle are 2 different things.

i would say the majority of people who say they are catholic on the religious identification forms dont even know that a new pope is being selected.

Default Pope During Argentina Dirty War

I can not help but wonder...What will be dug up by the media concerning the new Pope's activities during Argentina's Dirty War. The Dirty War or Proceso was the period of military rule from 1976-1983 in which up to 30,000 were murdered or simply "disappeared." Supposedly, the Catholic Church in Argentina was not so much in opposition to the Military Regime. Did Pope Francis support the Military Regime, remain silent or speak out against the Generals ruling Argentina? I would like to see what comes to light!

I'm not RC.. but thought this bloke might be a good man.
Humility and being immune to the seduction of power (and the corruption that goes with it) would be a very good thing...

Seems like a decent choice.

Argentina must be going nuts.

By the way, I'm an atheist too, but I can still be interested in this historic moment and be happy for the Catholics of the world.

I bet that's true. I wish I could see coverage of the celebrations in Argentina.

Still eagerly awaiting Pope Lando II.

On the bright side though, Pope Francis give plenty of of opportunties to make "Take it easy, Francis" jokes...
