The school's spelling was incorrect and VP Quayle should have realized this. But being on the spot I can understand why he didn't question it.

What is concerning, however, is that after this well documented mishap, you (and others, possibly) sincerely feel that "potatoe" is the correct spelling.

Apart from a quote from the spin article where you sourced that idea, can you find a legitimate educational source that it was an "accepted spelling through the 19th century"? Nothing about that in an online etymology dictionary:

Online Etymology Dictionary, origin of the word potato

There is nothing found for 'potatoe'

Who the heck would use spelling from the 1800's in 1992 anyway even if that were true?

And this has as much to do with you thread title as the OP story you linked to. ie Nothing.

*yawn*

Same old tired tricks by the so-called "Mr. Future Lawyer" Harrier.

The POTATO is NEVER spelled with an "E" in the 21st Century. Try joining us in the present, boy.

Sheesh, no wonder I stopped confronting you. It's entirely WAY too easy to shut you down.

It's called "re-writing history," like what they've been trying to do with Bush's dismal record as POTUS lately.

And a little career-guidance for the OP: you've often said you can't decide whether or not to be a teacher or a lawyer (), but since you can't even spell 'potato,' please choose lawyer.

A teacher who doesn't know the proper spelling of a simple word like 'potato' has no business within 100 feet of a classroom full of kids.

LOL

Someone who is delusional enough to believe the earth is only 5000 to 15000 years old and dinosaurs existed at the same time as humans has no business being within 100 feet of a classroom full of kids or a law practice.

Did you call for the teacher of the student who the vice president attempted to correct to quit her job?

She provided the cue card with the "e" on the end.

As usual, the liberals deflect away from the topic, and instead discuss Harrier.

It never fails to occur.

Liberals can't handle the truth - that everybody is on to their lies and spin.

That was the point of the thread - highlighting liberal lies and spin, and they don't like the glare of harsh reality.

This topic and thread is already a failure. I responded directly to your post. So you are just as much of a participant in the deflection as anyone else.
