It seems like hardly a day passes when someone in the public eye says something that is not politically correct. Then they are forced to say they are sorry and everyone gets all worked up and angry. Just once I wish someone would be able to get away with saying something that is not PC but they truly believe and everyone knows it is true.
Agreed. It's the politically correct people I steer away from, because they're the most fake of 'em all. People need to stop being afraid of this stuff and actually speak their mind.
I agree. PC has gone way too far. The very nature of PC is to avoid truth in favor of not upsetting someone. I do think there is a place where not worrying about political correctness meets with a decency standard. However, I think people should just be offended and make a mental note about the character of the person who made the comment rather than make a huge public issue whining for a fake apology.
The ditzy chicks didnt have to apologize. They certainly didnt apologize because they were sorry, they did it to sell more albums.
Oh really? Gee whiz, I thought every celebrity apology was out of genuine contriteness and sincerity, and not just a ploy pushed by their agents to sucker the gullible American public into giving them another chance because they love to see those public confessions.
It's not about being PC--rather, it's about not being a racist a-hole! How hard is it not to say an ugly racial slur? How hard is it to be respectful of others?
Sure it was a private conversation, but it leaked. And the fact that it leaked means that Dog's finanical backers have gotten a little skittish. Who would want to advertise their products or services in a time slot of a show where the protagonist is known to make racist rants? It's economics folks!
