It is nice to make claims without a single thread of factual data.
What is the POWERBALL NUMBER FOR NEXT WEEK?
What is really funny is all the people who are in such an uproar, then go to sites like Facebook, twitter, etc. and put all sorts of "private" info out for the world to see.
Let's see the data that phone numbers were used to find the Bombers. We ALL know that isn't true. There were many photos of them and they were identified. How do you identify someone from a phone number if they weren't collecting names and call content? It's quite impossible, especially when there were thousands of people in that same are using cell phones.
LOL and you believe "they" aka the same people spying on millions of Americans? Ha ha ha.
Yes because "they" are telling the truth. Uh huh.
Well that got all that info re-classified as "metadata" rather than transmission data.
No reason they couldn't get the actual conversations labeled as well and then exempt from needing warrants.
Tell me that dialing a phone number is NOT transmission data.
That's great, but conservatives do support the Patriot Act. You get that right. That conservatives cheerleaded the expansion of the surveillance state under GWB, and that Democrats remain, the only group with substantial members who were and are against the surveillance state.
As nation we need to understand where conservative ideology will lead us and these kinds of crappy policies conservatism supports.
Again, conservative supported the disastrous war in Iraq, conservatives supported torture, conservatives supported GITMO, supported not giving terrorists trials and just holding them indefinitely, conservatives supported the Patriot Act, conservatives supported the expansion of the surveillance state.
This cannot be repeated enough.
conservatives supported these terrible policies.
I don't care if they once supported these terrible policies. I care that they don't support them now. It was bad policy crafted from bad positions. It's going to take bipartisanship to get rid of the Patriot Act. This court order could be helpful to achieve that end.

Especially since the court order runs from 4/25-7/19 and the bombing happened 4/15.
And they asked for 121,000,000 records..33% of Americans were suspect in the Boston bombing 10 days after it happened ?
And another discussion about the US government violating the civil liberties of its citizens devolves into page after page of partisan finger-pointing.
Who cares what voters thought, it's what YOUR REPS thought that YOU VOTED FOR and MANY DEMS that the Left voted for support this.
It matters what the voters thought, Democratic voters did punish some Democrats for supporting the war on Terror, John Edwards, Hillary Clinton, Joe Libermann they faced consequences for the Iraqi war, President Obama was mostly the nominee because he opposed the war in Iraq.
But most importantly it shows where ideology leads us, when Democrats say they are for freedom, there is a real track record there of them being the only major political party that opposes the expansion of military power and the surveillance state which to me is the real threat to American freedom.
conservative ideology supports the surveillance state supports the expansion of the military. I know that sucks for conservatives but reality is reality. They supported torture, supported the Patriot Act, supported GITMO, etc.

So true. And things will only get worse seeing they got away with it and a judge ok'd it.

Go and view the track record of Pelosi. Maybe that will wake you up.
And then go view Harry Reid's record.

It is not partisan. conservatives supported these things. If you don't like these policies then understand that when conservatives are elected these are the kinds of policies they support.
Certainly some Democrats support this stuff, but there are a lot of Democrats who don't. This is important.
If you don't like the Patriot Act, then doesn't it behoove us to understand the ideology that pushed for it, that supported it, that keeps supporting it.
If you don't like torture, isn't it important to understand the ideology that did support torture?
If you hate the Iraq war isn't it important to understand the ideology that did support the war.
If you hate the expansion of the surveillance state isn't important to understand the ideology that supports it?
How can we correct these things if we don't get rid of the political actors who are most likely to support these crap policies.
That's not partisan that is reality.
