So Paula Deen used the N-Word, considering she's an old southern white person that's not that suprising. So what else did she do?

Quote:
“Well what I would really like is a bunch of little n—–s to wear long-sleeve white shirts, black shorts and black bow ties, you know in the Shirley Temple days, they used to tap dance around.” Paula Deen laughed and said “Now that would be a true southern wedding, wouldn’t it? But we can’t do that because the media would be on me about that.”
Holy s**t... And the wedding she was planning was for her brother named "Bubba"... Wow, Paula Deen is as white t as they come...

Saying "it's just a word" shows either alot of denial, or someone trying to justify its use of the word. I'm not justifying it at all. I've lost all respect for Paula Deen after this. I didn't have that much respect for her in the first place. However, now that she has said this, forget it.
So does this mean that all people who used this word in their past are lost to you? Do you not accept that it was common language for millions of people? Not just Southerners. I have heard many in the Northeast (especially Boston) use it.

Maybe your parents used to say it. I bet your grandparents did.

Default Paula Deen uses the N word

I can't wait to see what Anthony Bourdain has to say about this? I thought Bourdain was being the douche for picking on Paula, but I think this breaking news gives him a moment of vindication.

Let's see how long this thread stays open. The one I started last night about this same topic was shut down in less than even 24 hrs. Good luck!

A thread pertaining to this very topic was already shut down. I will restate my opinion though... That word is thrown around constantly by AAs in the entertainment industry. Apparently, the word itself doesn't seem to bother them anymore. Why all the butt hurt over this particular instance of it's use? If it's just a matter of a white person using the word, than I would say that's sounds rather racist. No one race can claim proper ownership over a word.

You can't compare the word Redneck to the N word. I'm sorry.

Countless threads with countless insults to minorities, but even the tamest of negative references to whites gets deleted within hours or even minutes, thereby validating the assertion I and others have made about the microscopically thin skin of my fellow whites. Just watch. As the saying goes, "They love to dish it out, but they can't take it." What pusses.
