BTW, I am not knocking people with handicaps, at all nor people who have weight issues, I would be a hypocrite cause God knows our bathroom scales would be better if I stayed off of them. I am talking about people who live on junk food or the other extreme, they buy steak and things we can only wish to buy, but our budget limits us. And yes, the ones with all the kids drive me nuts as well.

BTW: good for your daughter!!!

Good golly who can be mad at you for the truth. It is you know. I try to avoid super wal-mart but mine actually is pretty good. When at our rentals we go in for odds and end in a hurry.

I kid you not there was a cart in front of us , acutally let me rephrase, there were 3 carts in front of us with fatty foods, sweets, meats, lots of breads, frozen foods, lots of ice cream, donuts, and nothing really healthy. How do i know, we were in back of them. Yep that time of the month for them. Their food stamps paid for it all

Normally i would not care but come on now, there was so much crap for food, no veggies, no fresh fruits, nuts you know are actually healthy. White breads no whole wheat. It was just junk And three carts full of it.

The crap in most frozen foods, is so not good for us. I like to see at least little children eating a balanced diet, have the damn sweets if you must, but eat other healthy foods also.

Corporate welfare, incentives, entitlements, loopholes and tax cuts for the wealthy cost our nation's taxpayers far, far more than social programs like SNAP (food stamps) designed to help the less fortunate.

The majority of people receiving food stamps actually work.

Food stamp benefits average out to about $1.42 per meal.

Lots of food stamp assistance goes to the elderly and the disabled.

But of course the line of rhetoric is that these people--the aged, the infirm, the working poor--are the problem. The drain on society.

There are politicians and follower/fanatics of certain politicians who buy this lie and will do anything to continue enriching the people who already have all they could ever need at our expense while touting this baseless, paranoiac, dishonest line about food stamp recipients in order to foment resentment towards the people who most need help getting by.

They've been doing this in Tennessee for years. I worked for a small city government back there and was part of a department where I saw this occuring summer after summer, year after year. Free meals would walk in daily, the kids would eat some or none of it, and then my employees would have to clean up the mess left over. The waste was stunning - hundreds of cartons of milk, hundreds of pieces of fruit, hundreds of sandwiches, thrown away every day from Memorial Day until Labor Day.
I bet that occurs all over the country & its ashame.

The problem I have isn't that someone is getting assistance. If they need it, we are a wealthy enough country that should do it. The problem I have is that these programs need to be streamlined and better managed.
As long as we the people keep making excuses to excuse the obvious waste it will only continue to get worse.
Yes we can point out waste in other areas, that doesn't mean that because there is waste in other areas we excuse waste in this area. The it's just a drop in the bucket mentality is exactly why the Fed is so bloated and out of control.

Help? We are paying for everything

Medicaid;
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (Food Stamps or SNAP);
Supplemental Security Income (SSI);
Federal Public House Assistance (Section 8);
Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP);
Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF);
National School Lunch Program's Free Lunch Program;
Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance;
Tribally-Administered Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TTANF);
Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR);
Head Start (if income eligibility criteria are met); or
State assistance programs (if applicable).

Cell phone and now internet

The 20th century began, progressives with socialist-Marxist doctrine began to infest the Democrat Party. The result is what we have today.

So what began as a noble cause has "evolved" (as Obama is wont to say) into yet another government giveaway program. Certainly not its original intent. The Lifeline Program has been corrupted by Obama supporters while they scream "pay your fair share", and the Democrats want to expand it to include the internet.

Like so many well intentioned programs.
The EPA has evolved into unrecognizable Porker.
The Department of energy. Without the internet I doubt the average person could name 5 things that it does.
Why do we need so many federal law enforcement departments? FBI, ATF, DEA, Secret Service etc.
Why do we need so many spy agencies? Would not the CIA merged with the NSA be a more streamlined approach?
Need we even mention the horror show that the IRS has become?

See, what's mildly funny is that you understand the absurdity, yet you can't make yourself face that what you wrote is pretty much what happened. (You can look this sort of stuff up, you know.) I guess facts aren't your thing.
