Are the mail boxes next to the clubhouse? Is there a place to get out of the rain by the clubhouse? Tryavon was trying to get out of the rain. That's what I think she's trying to get across, and West is not asking the right questions.
Why would he want to ask the right questions. Yes, The mailboxes are covered by an overhang. He was hanging there, on the phone...Telling her he was going to try to get home fast, he thought he'd lost the guy (George) Then while he was still on the phone with her...Trayvon was confronted by George.
So much for George's story about Trayvon coming up to him...And, this was obviously after George's phone call, and being told not to follow Trayvon.

I think she is being a good witness. She is coming off as being very authentic. She has good reasons, from her perspective, for what she did. Makes sense to me. She's being honest about the significant issues. She is clearly a sort of self-conscious person and does not like be the center of attention. Nothing wrong with that. I don't think the Defense is winning in this cross examination.
