If he's convicted, I dont think he'll survive prison. Every black person in the prison he will go to will be made aware of this case and some of them will put a major hurting on him. I dont want that to happen, but I think it will.

You haven't been in high school for a long time, have you? Almost every kid, white, black, Hispanic, asian, at some point in high school goes through the, "I'm a gangsta" phase. My school, which happened to be a really good public school in SoCal, with about the majority of students being from Asia, over 60%, was no different. Not sure why that is relevant in this case.

17 is nowhere near 40. He was a minor, a teenager, a dependent. Whatever you want to call it he wasn't a grown man or an adult. He was still growing mentally and physically. Zimmerman on the other hand is a grown man.
He was old enough to pull a deadly assault on another person.
You know how many 16-17 year olds murder people monthly ? Quite a few.

I agree with you, however most people still see marijuana in a very negative light (which is unfortunate). Zimmerman said "he looks like he's on drugs" and he had drugs in his system, that MIGHT play a role in the decision. I don't agree with that, but I know how people feel about pot.
