I just don't believe that. It was in the NYT and ABC, I get it, but there was so much fog of war and so much bs being slung because of the elections that I don't believe anything this administration says about Benghazi anymore.
Remember, Obama has lied to the American public since Day 1 about this incident. I find it impossible to believe that the WH, in the middle of a heated presidential election campaign, with polls that showed the race was nearly in a dead heat, wasn't aware of precisely what went wrong in Benghazi.

The CIA was blaming the State Dept while the State Dept was blaming the CIA.

So partisan spin is your basis for truth. Its the CIA, do really think they want their field agents doing Cable News interviews? Multiple Congressional committees have had hearings with the CIA over the events in Benghazi.
Notice what Gowdy said: "What creates the appearance and perhaps the reality of a cover-up?" Appearance and perhaps. He is just spinning for partisan gain.
Obama was in the White House. It was day time in Washington DC.
The "coverup" in the CNN story is what the CIA was doing in Libya, not about the attack in Benghazi. Not often will the CIA willingly disclose information about their operations to the general public.
