But don't you think that in the US (not solely, but for this argument) we conflate standard of living with quality of life?
Of course not, you are a woman and you are not poor. Try - just try - being poor and a heterosexual male in this society, and not conflating standard of living with quality of life. Moral outliers could make that work, but not most of the rest of us.
There isn't any. Monsanto runs the FDA and they would never bad mouth their own work.
lol.
you think the FDA is the only way to get this information out? what about all those anti-GMO folks in europe- does the FDA magically quash their research too?

You really think cow hormone in your milk is "healthy" ?
until evidence is presented otherwise- certainly. all milk contains hormones.

You really think HFCS instead of cane sugar is "healthy" ?
what does high fructose corn syrup, which was invented in the 1950's, have to do with 'frankenfoods' and monsanto? but yes, i think it's perfectly healthy.
why would glucose and fructose be unhealthy?

The FDA/USDA are not the gatekeepers you think they are.
nor are they preventing any of the billions of people in the world from publishing research that would provide the evidence i asked for in the previous post.
funny how that works..

It's not like kids can go down to the local factory and get a union job and by a house at 21. Now you need 4-8 years of college and debt accumulation to get anywhere. This often means living at home for an extended period of time.

I'm just going to leave it at we agree to disagree.
And I'm not one that just blindly follows one side or the other.
Valid questions have been raised about studies that the FDA has not answered.
And if it's ok then why not let it be labeled ? Isn't choice a valid argument here ?
I don't mind if GMO is in the market if I'm given the choice to buy it or not.
But I'm not given a choice am I ? Why not ?
I was fine with the cow hormone because I was able to buy milk without the hormone in it.
Monsanto didn't like that and brought it to court to get the labels removed.
Why ?
Corn is used to fatten up cattle before slaughter, not cane sugar.
Why is that ?
I don't believe you do, either.
But I see it as a reality in the US; it seems as if stuff is filling people up, unsuccessfully for the most part.
We have a consumer mentality. Have to have "the stuff" because having "stuff" means you are well off even if you are eyeball deep in debt. That's the American way.
I would use the government to acquire some skills.
There are programs for it.
Or, one could sit on their butt and do nothing to change their lot in life and whine incessantly.
Yup. You pay your taxes and should make use of programs.
I went to college on the GI Bill.
I got my teacher certification paid for by NCLB money.
I know neighbors that had their fencing reimbursed 70% by applying to conservation programs.
I know of someone in my area that got 100% reimbursed for constructing a high tunnel greenhouse from government conservation programs.
I tried to get into WHIP but it was full at the time for my area.
