Both the UN and a Geneva investigation team said the May chemical weapon attack looked like it was from the rebels but they couldn't prove it.

That's why Obama didn't do anything about his "line in the sand".
What was he going to do..attack the people he's bankrolling ?

Interview with an Intelligence Insider. If you read this article, you will see things no one is talking about anywhere else. The part about the Red Crescent is especially interesting.

So now we are hearing reports of chemical weapons planned for use by Assad. What’s the real story?
The world is being set up for a false flag operation. Obama, Clinton and every supporter of the anti-Assad initiative are either lying to the American people or are “dupes.” The objective remains taking out Assad and replacing him with a Muslim Brotherhood-backed regime.
There have been reports out of the U.S. and the UK that Assad is preparing to use chemical weapons against the rebels. Assad denies that he would ever use them, and there is a reason we should believe him in this case. The condemnation that would result is unnecessary and certainly unwarranted. There reports are to condition people to immediately suspect Assad when a chemical incident occurs. In this case, it’s the U.S., the UK and other Western backed countries constantly asserting that Assad will launch a chemical attack, and we’re getting ready just for that case.
But if you look at the evidence, it’s the anti-Assad, Western backed forces that have taken possession of chemical storage areas. There was a recently released video, very graphic in nature of anti-Assad rebels conducting the test of a nerve agent on two rabbits. The video displayed chemicals bottles with the name of a Turkish country on them. I’m not going to give the name or video channel, but people can find the video for themselves on YouTube. It’s a set-up to topple Assad and put a Muslim brotherhood leader in his place.
I told you before, and you printed what I said, that a chemical weapon attack would justify U.S. and NATO intervention, supported by the outcry of the world against Assad. It’s Iraq all over again, except Syria is a hundred times more dangerous. Unlike Iraq, Afghanistan or even Libya, Syria will not implode. It will EXPLODE, and we will be fighting Iranians as well. Russia has “advisers” in Syria as well. Are the American people ready and willing to square off against Iran AND Russia in a regional conflict that will likely turn into a global, full scale war?
What’s going on with Turkey, Syria and Russia now?

The Pentagon seems to believe the American public are utterly stupid and don't have any ability to think for themselves, lets hope this time they are proven wrong.
Obama has every reason to believe the American public is stupid enough to believe anything he says.

They stood behind him about the Benghazi video.
And they will stand behind him again if he defies the UN and bypasses Congress and makes the sole decision to invade Syria.

Interesting article, Claud or Mr. Hopper. But the major flaw in the argument is the bolded part of your article. The objective may be to take out Assad but the end result is definitely NOT to install the Muslim Brotherhood. Saudi Arabia is the major backer of the rebels and they especially consider the Muslim Brotherhood the enemy. They just finished orchestrating a major coup in Egypt for the sole purpose of getting rid of the Muslim brotherhood. People need to get a clue and realize the the Saudi's are pulling all the strings in the Middle East and conducting a proxy war with Iran by supporting various factions with money, intelligence and arms.

Very shortly, we are going to give Assad and his military a major can of whoop-ass so that the factions supported by the Saudis can take control of Syria and get Iran and Hezbollah out of the picture there.

Here's the thing. It may well be the case that some unscrupulous faction among the rebels used chemical weapons hoping to frame the Assad regime in order to draw the US in at a time when they have been losing ground after begging for intervention for months with no success. It may be that the pentagon suspects this to be the case.

But the pentagon & white house may nontheless reason that the Assad regime simply must be gotten rid of and cannot be allowed to emerge victorious in this conflict, and this chemical attack may provide the pretext and international political will they need to overpower Russian and Chinese opposition.

I know it seems a cold calculation, to knowingly(or suspectingly) go along with the murderous trickery of some group of desperate amoral rebels, but for the pentagon, who has already determined (rightfully I believe) that Assad simply cannot be allowed to win, this is the unpleasant wartime stratagem that they may not have the luxury of passing up, given the current state of this conflict.

It depends on what the UN finds. In May the UN and a Geneva investigation group said they has suspicions that the chemical attack came from the rebels.

That is why Obama's line in the sand got crossed but nothing happened.
This time though they have Rice and Powers at the UN trying to get the investigation called off.

Now why would the US not want the UN to investigate ?
Why would the rebels not agree either (that's what took the few days before the UN team could go to the site..getting the rebels to allow it).

Abso freaking lutelly correct!! There are ZERO US interests in this. There are no "good guys" to support, each side hates the US with equal enthusiasm, but, if we come down on one side or the other, they won't complain. When enough of our guys have died helping them, and they reach their goals, then they will just start suicide bombing our people while they are close and handy.

Syria can fry cor all I care. Hell, just give BOTH sides all the killing gear we can pull out of surplus and they woll kill each other better than we can do it for them. I'll make popcorn.
