"California's Obamacare insurance exchange enrolled more than 53,000 people in health-care plans in just the first three days of this week, a blistering pace that had officials crowing on Thursday.
"December is turning out to be an enormous month," said Peter Lee, head of the Covered California exchange.
Lee said the surprisingly strong level of enrollments—which comes just days before the key Dec. 23 enrollment deadline—puts the state on track to beat its original projection of signing up as many as 700,000 people in Obamacare insurance by the end of open enrollment in March."
I'll bet they are NOT ALL old and sick. I'll also bet that more are over age 45 than under age 35 and that more are poor and on Medicaid than with private insurance. Though you don't care about those types of ratios, most others understand why they matter for evaluating Ocare.

The purpose of the bill was to get people insured, not to guarantee a profit for insurers. Whether they remain on their parents plan or buy insurance for themselves, the goal of having them insured is met.
Unfortunately, what became the ACA was originally envisioned by the Heritage Foundation as a means to stop national health insurance and to guarantee the role and profitability of the insurance industry in US healthcare. So, it does take good care of the insurers no matter what happens.
