No one with half a brain would have thought that he was going to be our savior. He was a nobody from left field who had never even served a term in office as a senator before becoming president. Why would anyone expect an inexperienced unproven politician to be our next savior? Because he said so??? How stupid is that?
You should read the thread. It has all kinds of examples where Obama, Michele, fellow democrats were trying to make Obama out to be the messiah. Do they realize how dangerous it could be to hold someone so high, refuse to hold him accountable is? Much less setting expectations too high.
At least finally one of the media admitted to it.
But if you read what she said, she really just said that people expected too much. She didn't actually say that Obama did anything wrong. It's like saying we expected him to get an A+ and he only got an A. We thought he'd score 100 as president and he only got 99. The tone of what she said is that we failed him by not being understanding and forgiving enough. There was no implication whatsoever in her remarks that Obama ever did anything wrong. She didn't admit that he's been a bad President. It's like when Obama himself was asked what his biggest failure of his first term was and his answer was that he didn't communicate his great success enough to the people. According to him, his failure was that he didn't let people know how great he was. Walters' remarks have that same tone.
In another speech Obama gave in Lebanon, New Hampshire Obama suggested his followers will be struck by a luminous force guiding them to the polls.
"...a light will shine down from somewhere. It will light upon you. You will experience an epiphany. And you will say to yourself, I have to vote for Barack. I have to do it."
Yep, the only thing this idiot can say about his squatting in the WH for 8 years was that he was elected because he was well-spoken and clean.
He rules by emotions, not logic, not common sense.
Get the people all riled up against the latest "enemy".
And the people will vote with their emotions.
Obama and his minions come from activist backgrounds and know exactly how and where to strike.
Romney was one of those "rich fat cats" that everyone is supposed to hate. And they did.
Well, I have to say that I'm a liberal. Did I expect Obama to be any kind of Messiah? Not only do I find that idea to be extremely STUPID I find it extremely OFFENSIVE. I was hoping for better things from the president but not really expecting much. I think the American system of governance is beyond reasonable or meaningful measures. It's so dysfunctional and incompetent that I'm actually very surprised that anything at all gets accomplished. The system is much better at regression but near useless in any progression. Why anyone would want to be a president, presiding over this loony bin of a government is highly questionable. So right off the bat I have great reservations about anyone who even runs for president.
I've never understood why people fawn and worship politicians. The typical politician is usually both ethically and morally bankrupt, and have narcissistic tendencies. In the era of the 24x7 news cycle, we've given these idiots an outlet for their sickness.
Case in point -- Obama sitting down with Steve Harvey, the uber-respected journalist from......The Family Feud. It's embarrassing that our political environment has degenerated into something that is barely a step above the typical Ryan Seacrest production.
And our voters seem to be accepting of liars, cheats and fools as their representatives.
