What? That's a load of bull. Listen if their not being paid a fair wage then they have the right to protest. I run a small business and actually I run a few. My lowest employee makes $10 an hour. How do you know they were lazy? This employer only cares about one thing his bottom line profit. This is no different then shipping jobs to China.
You people have seemed to forgotten how the economy works. If the cost of living goes up, wages go up. The cost of living has risen for the past decade but has wages...no. Its that simp!e.
How can anyone survive on 7.45 an hour you tell me? Would you be fine if that was your income? How about if it was your kids income and you were dead?

I actually explained previously, how someone can live on 7.45 an hour. I'll type slowly for the impaired.
1. Find a place to live that is within your means. My "X" lives in Williamsburg, in a 2 bedroom apt that's $800 a month with all utilities included. It's on the bus route, right up the rd from a grocery store and a drug store.
2. With a spouse, or a room mate, that splits the rent in ½ to $400 each. at $7.45 an hour, you earn app, $1291.33 a month. let's say you pay ¼ in taxes, that's $322.83, leaving $968.50 each. Subtract your half of the rent, leaving $568.50, EACH. While that means you won't have hbo, show time, cinemax, 100 mb internet, 2 iphones, and a jaguar, you can live off of that. Getting a part time job to suppliment that, or going to school part time to work towards a degree, with any of the THOUSANDS of grants, scholarships, or student loans available, is workable, especially since I know several people doing just that.
So, now that I have told you how you can live off of $7.45 an hour, now what?
BTW, In addition, you stated you paid people $10 an hour. If you started losing money, what are your options? Reduce money going out, or increase money coming in, increase prices, or reduce expenditures. Employee wages are an expenditure, so let's say you are getting the items of quality you require, and cannot spend less on your stock, that means reducing wages. Cutting back hours, cutting back on employees, or cutting back on wages, right? If you don't care about YOUR profit, then you either go out of business, or you HAVE to make a profit to stay in business, which means you HAVE to care about your profit.
By your reasoning, NOT raising minimum wage to keep up with inflation devalues their job AND their pay.
AND, what causes inflation? Artificial inflation cause by government?
Regular inflation is caused by higher wages, forcing higher costs, increasing the costs of goods and services. Now I realize that there are other things, like the price of oil going up, not within our means of control, that contributes to inflation, but the price also drops, which can cause other prices to drop, so while it is associated with inflation, it's not a root cause. Higher wages = higher costs = more spending = inflation. NOT raising minimum wage actually reduces inflation.
There are of course many other contributing factors that can cause inflation, but currently, the government throwing billions of dollars a day into the stock market is one of the BIGGEST causes today.

You took me back to the days of my youth.
I remember when I and my roommate picked up pop bottles and cashed them in just to have money for food.
I had more fun in those days than I've had in the rest of my life, combined. We had NOTHING but our piddly little jobs, but we made it. And learned from it.

You haven't done what you claimed. You showed where two people each with a $7.45 an hour jobs can survive.
They exercised their right to protest and the employer exercised his right to terminate for not showing up to work. I would have done the same thing. I would rather start over than be held hostage by anyone.
