But under-skilled.........lots of those. Go to college and run-up tons of debt.....and with that degree, you don't have any skills that will equate to a good salary in the REAL world.

Wow, a degree in Cultural Studies.....hum??????
My niece has a degree in Women's Studies, $80K student loan debt and a job as a receptionist at a daycare center.

Today you need 4 yrs of college to get a good job if you do not have any school after high shcool you make 30% less over your life time then some extra school that is why he is pushing it. Do you want to work only make $10 to $15 a hr or do you want to make $75k+ with extra schooling

I'm sure he's been made aware that barely 30% graduate from a 2 year college and barely 50% graduate from a 4 year college yet he voices little concern over that.
And much of the reasons why people don't finish or get their degrees is due to financial issues - that will also help graduation rates.

Absolutely right. Professional non-thinkers. Add in $5-$6 figures of student loan debt to make them dependent/thankful for their their vanishing/underpaying jobs & you've got a hearty dose of control over these people for years.

Yuck, she should have gone to an intensive, 6 month welding school.....good welder is worth their weight in solder.

Because you end up with a LOT of debt slaves. As the government offers higher subsidy for education, colleges raise their prices to get more of that subsidy. And you end up with the costs that you have today

Because the world has become more complex, and we have an undersupply in many occupations requiring substantial education. We have an oversupply of undereducated folks chasing ever fewer jobs at that level.

Now you can pretend 2 arms and 2 legs will still get you a middle class job, or you can recognize the economy of 1873 doesn't exist anymore.

A good job can be had by combining a motivated individual with 1-2 years of trade school.
