I have been posting here for many years . . . I made it very clear that I thought Obama had no business running for the Presidency when he had not even been through ONE TERM as a Senator.

I also said the same thing about John Edwards, and I am from NC.

In both cases, folks were dazzled by personal charisma rather than substance.

And I would put Palin in that same category.

All of the above-mentioned were freshmen in their respective political roles. History should have enlightened people that it takes a seasoned leader to deal with the beltway.

Those of us old enough to actually have lived through Jimmy Carter's administration tried to tell people what happens and to read their history . . . but nope. Stars in eyes. Rock star. Photogenic. All 3 of them - Obama, Edwards, Palin.

And let me clarify. I think Jimmy Carter is a fine human being. He is also a fine writer! He is a good man and has accomplished much to be proud of as an American citizen and former President of this country. But he was an ineffective leader and his policies were dismal and it was a miserable time to live through. We all rushed to the polls to vote him out.

John Edwards is not a good person in my assessment. He is a narcissist. But I think Obama, Palin and Carter are good folks -- they just weren't ready to be effective leaders at the national level.

My opinion.

cons/repubs arent the ones talking about Palin

seems that even though Palin hasnt been running for anything in years lib/dems always inject her into conversation

obsessing over someone you hate is a mental condition

---

repubs arent planning on running her or anybody else that is actually conservative

There are only a handful of people that can come close to debating with Hilary Clinton. Sarah Palin isn't one of them.

I only know of two people that have put her in her place in a debate of questions and answers.

Gosh, you're right... I don't think I've EVER seen so much hatred directed at a nationally prominent politician, anywhere, in my entire life!

Please do keep on reminding us of how fabulous Sarah Palin is. The 2016 primaries are 24 short months away.
Wouldn't want anyone to lose sight of her!

And thanks for sharing that photo of her. I had no idea what she looks like. She's pretty, isn't she?

She was the VP candidate as I recall.

And you can't explain the specific reason why she resigned can you? Please attempt it. A hint..............it had something to do with a particular statute in Alaska.

You can defend her all you want, but she couldn't even make it through one term as a governor, that is just sad.

.
I agree with everything you state about former President Carter. He was a good Christian man who meant well but he wanted to take the country in a different direction that was absent of scandal and international crisis but ended up with a huge crisis that was out of his control. I wouldn't say he was a pacifist but I do give him quips for attempting to save the hostages with 'Operation Eagle Claw'. It was a gutsy call but it backfired.
