Sorry if I got that wrong- I have trouble making sense out of their arguments.
That sounds about right, it is much easier for the right wingers to throw around the generic statements in hopes that no one would notice how hollow those comments really are.

Red states like Lousiana have great infrastructure, they never get caught in a debacle.

Taxpayer invariably comes out on the short end in these wrestling matches. After all the contractor would not have gotten the job in the first place had they not been connected.
It's unlikely taxpayers will end up on the hook. Even your OWN LINK admits that.
COULD it happen?
Sure.
Is it LIKELY?
No.

Likely.............lol

Taxpayers always end up on the hook. Then they turn around and vote for the same fishermen for some reason. Fish are smarter than that yet...........

There will be litigation, Taxpayers will be on the hook for one side of that, at minimum. Which side will win is sheer guesswork, but the usual result is that the taxpayer gets reamed. It is rarely the case that the sheep eats the wolf.

It appears I have come up with a new term..........sadly. "Liberal earth" is where that big digger sits and there is where we are heading it appears. Sad but true.

Only in liberal land does the sheep eat the wolf. It is a wonderful land where everyone is happy and gets along and nobody has to work unless they want and they dance every night and worship the trees. Great country if you can get there. They haven't found it yet.

No they don't.
Often - yes, ALWAYS - no.
There's been plenty of government military projects that were not "cost plus" where the company involved was forced to swallow cost overruns. Boeing has swallowed such costs several times. The KC-46A contract is a prime example.
As usual, you wingnuts are overgeneralizing.

Ken
