Plenty of liberals attack Islamic extremism; don't blame others if you're too lazy or uninformed to notice. In fact, both liberals and conservatives attack it far out of proportion to its actual relevance in the United States (about 0.8% of the population is Muslim.)

I suppose you could say the same about Christianity if we're going back to the seventh century. The Thirty Years' War alone killed 8 million, and that was Christians killing each other.

Why is this question directed towards liberals? Wasn't is GW Bush and Cheny and a host of other conservatives that have called Islam a religion of peace?

Curious as to why you would ask this question of "liberals" when you can find an entire and thorough explanation here:

Religion of Peace - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Are you motivated by your bias against liberals or your bias against Muslims? Or did you just want to start a thread where you could passive-aggressively insult both?

Are you a Muslim jihadist from Dearborn? That would definitely explain why you are so mistaken.

Why do you assume all liberals think Islam is peaceful? Christianity only gets more criticism, because it's the dominate religion in this country and thus most people have to deal with it on a daily basis.

A religion isn't peaceful or violent on how it's written, it comes down to how people interpret it.

Your video isn't a religion driven video, it's a video that shows a group of human beings that are closer to wild animals than what we consider civilized, and the biggest determinant to that is education. Religion is simply something people can band around, easily manipulated and distorted.

Islam is just as likely to be abused as any other religion. Christianity had it's time, and it lasted hundreds of years. Inquisitions, crusades, wiping out native populations, etc. Right now there is a radical Islam problem, but that doesn't represent Islam in general. If it did, than to be fair all Christians should be shamed into exile.

Muslims despise women............they beat them and kill them............yet liberals still call it a peaceful religion and scream about the war on women by republicans. Pure insanity.

Could you be specific--which liberals are you speaking of, as I have not heard "liberals" make that claim. Can you back up this massive generalization?

There are some conservatives who have defended Islam, but apparently you only hear this from "liberals."

In fact, George Bush said many nice things about Muslims. By your logic, President Bush was a perpetrator of insanity.

George W. Bush:

"Here in the United States our Muslim citizens are making many contributions in business, science and law, medicine and education, and in other fields. Muslim members of our Armed Forces and of my administration are serving their fellow Americans with distinction, upholding our nation's ideals of liberty and justice in a world at peace."

"Islam is a faith that brings comfort to people. It inspires them to lead lives based on honesty, and justice, and compassion."

"Some of the comments that have been uttered about Islam do not reflect the sentiments of my government or the sentiments of most Americans. Islam, as practiced by the vast majority of people, is a peaceful religion, a religion that respects others. Ours is a country based upon tolerance and we welcome people of all faiths in America."
