This is egregious. What, the cops thought a 350 lb asthmatic was going to get away like a bolt of lightning? True he shouldn't have resisted arrest but that doesn't magically equal an illegal chokehold. It reminds me of the "royal pains" episode where the pro wrestler nearly died being handcuffed facedown.
Who indicated they were afraide he would get away, the cops should not have used a choke hold but how do you arrest someone that size who won't go peacefully. He was guilty so should the cops just walk away and give him a pass because he doesn't want to be arrested.

The thing is, infantrymen have little to no value in society after their service is over. How many job sectors can you transfer infantrymen skills into civilian life? Very very little. Grunts and jarheads have poor job prospects after they separate from the military. They didn't have much between their ears going in, and still don't going out, except now that instead of just being stupid, they're stupid and deadly
Bet you they have some type of military background.
It's a good reason to give us all defense weapons and standard magazines.

I don't condone the kill of anyone let alone L.E., but having witnessed what some of these thugs do first hand, I can sympathize... Stopping and frisking, harassing, and repeatedly arresting people on trumped out bs charges is not the way to go about cleaning up a community...
It is a way to start a huge wave of civil unrest. The rogue LEOs will get worse and protests will get nasty. Then the MRAPs roll in with brainddead LEOs with riotgear and inflated egos.

It doesn't matter what you think of the guy, giving a pass to an officer who used an illegal choke hold on someone is unacceptable. Remember, it all starts out small, and then it grows the more people say, "What do you expect when you do a crime? What do you expect if you resist? Who cares, he's a scum bag?" So? I have veterans in my family too, does not invalidate what I say. Too many PTSD vets are applying for, and getting positions, as police officers; a position which should only be for civilians, not ex-military cutouts
Vets have not given me anything that I have now since World War II. I never buy the line that we have to fight them over there so we can be free here. That's something for neo-Confederates who become sexually aroused looking the pistols and shotguns on the cover of Guns & Ammo to believe.
That's what happens when PTSD vets have little job prospects except LE. There are better adjusted vets who are getting jobs in the private sector, but I think we can both agree that TOO MANY PTSD vets are becoming police officers. Unacceptable, and that is a failure of the government.
What is unacceptable is that we don't treat our vets if the have ptsd. It's the failure of government and society.
Funny how everyone on the scene said that all the guy did was break up a fight. I didn't see a single cigarette on the guy.
