Liz Cheney: ‘Despicable’ Obama slanders ‘patriots’ when he admits to post-9/11 torture

Isn't it sweet how she defends her Daddy's use of torture so enthusiastically? (There definitely is something "despicable" here, Liz. Look in a mirror for a clue of what that might be.)
I would say the same thing to you. It's pretty despicable to misrepresent what someone says. She didn't call him despicable for admitting that we tortured people. She called him despicable for focusing on the torture that happened then instead of focusing on the sacrifices and heroic actions that also happened then. So why don't you work on your own honesty before you call other people despicable?
Quote:
And talk about hypocrisy. She goes on a tirade, accusing the president of making those comments to "change the subject" from other things happening in the country, when, in fact, Obama was responding to the U.S. Senate report that is about to be released wherein the use of torture is not disputed. And she was a guest on the show to discuss that very report.
Yes, let's talk about hypocrisy. You make a moral judgment on her remarks when you yourself aren't being honest about those remarks. That, my friend, is you being a hypocrite.
Quote:
Talk about trying to change the subject--she did that very well, steering the conversation away from the disastrous report on her father's regime's use of torture as fast as her despicable little mouth could manage it.
So what? Why shouldn't she change the subject as fast as possible? If someone was trying to malign your father's character would you enthusiastically join in? Get real.

And once again you're showing what a hypocrite you are. Instead of addressing her remarks, you twist them to make it look like she's saying something she isn't, then you turn around and get on her case for not wanting to address the host's remarks. Once again, you should try working on not committing the same sins yourself that you want to trash other people for doing.

It is quite clear, always has been clear(I didn't vote for him either time)

That he does not like America
He wants to change America in a bad way.
He wants all sorts of other cultures living here, via illegally.
He doesn't respect the Constitution

So of course say we tortured, another way to get others to hate America.

What was it that the Rev said at the church he attended for over 20 years?
Not God Bless America...God Dm America

Obama and his wife have a lot of Evil residing in them.

Not that I agree with torture at all. Its horrible.
Its something a lot of countries do and have done for 100's of years.

So why is Obama bringing attention to America doing it?
So he can slam America

Other countries knew about the torture taking place, Guantanamo was not a secret this just adds details and contradicts the conclusion that the torture was key in the war on terror.

So because other countries used torture for the last 100 years that gives us license to do the same, our standard should be we are no worse than......

Liz Cheney, daughter of the former Vice President Dick Cheney, called President Barack Obama a “disgrace” and “despicable” for admitting that America tortured detainees following the attack on 9/11.

OK, now read what she is quoted as having said and tell me if she said what you say she said...

"You know Moinica, this president is a disgrace. He`s got a situation where, as your last two reports showed, you`ve got crises erupting around the world and he is expending more time, more energy, more passion, more aggressive activity in targeting and going after patriots, heros, CIA officers and others who kept us safe after 9/11. He`s lying about what they did,. He`s slandering them. He went to Cairo and did it in 2009. Today he`s doing it from the Oval Office. It`s a disgrace. It`s despicable."

Contrary to Cheney`s comments, the Obama administration has failked to aggressively prosecute anyone associated with the interrogation program.

Which comments would those be?

FAIL and REFAIL!

I'm always fascinated that the media seeks out the opinion of all the discredited and disgraced neo-cons associated with the last administration that nearly ruined the entire country for good.

"Oh gee, your daddy got us into two wars that were a failure and eroded constitutional rights, all in the name of protecting us? What do you think about this new report?"

We're America. We should be better then that.

Everything has a trade off.

Outsourcing torture has been a principle of US foreign policy for many decades, and when foreign nations targeted our military apparatus to include our highly disposable young men from the lower socioeconomic classes, we could take the high road without losing a lot of sleep over what might happen.

That all changed September 11, 2001.

Now, failing to learn of planned terrorist attacks before they take place can cost the lives of far less disposable Americans.

See how that`s different?

My point is not to advocate for or against enhanced interrogation but to make clear that there is no easy choice anymore.

Now civilians are the targets of groups that are typically not under the control of a specific government.

There are no sanctions that could be applied bring them back into line.

There are no government officials to hold accountable.

No action of the UN Security Council will matter.

Even threatening the lives of these terrorists will make no difference because they are happy to die while attacking innocent Americans.

The only reasonable course of action is to do what is necessary to learn of planned attack before they happen or admit to the voters that we are unwilling to do everything we can to keep them safe because to do so would violate our principles.

No, Goodnight.
Please go back and read where I said I do not agree with torture.

It's interesting that Liz Cheney calls it despicable to admit to torturing prisoners but she won't call the torture itself despicable which breaks international laws and makes it harder on any Americans being held prisoner overseas. (How can we demand fair treatment when we don't give it to those we imprisoned? Does she really think the whole world didn't already know before this report came out?) She also won't call it despicable that we paid two private contractors over 80 million dollars to design torture techniques. Torture is not an America value and it's past time to own up to our mistakes and vow not to let it happen again.
