Yes, but is the behavior of the Axis powers, North Korea and North Vietnam really something we should emulate?

Because admitting the problem is the first step to recovery.

A real President would have blocked that information for 150 years sealed and stated that he fully supports the efforts of the intelligence services and thanks them for their service.
A real President isn't guided by any sort of principles, it appears. In that case, let's be glad we don't have one.

No one held a gun to our heads forcing us to sign it. Civilized nations signed it because it was agreed that was how civilized nations should behave in times of war. But it seems the right would rather act like barbarians and just need the least excuse to do so. I assume that right-wingers would support the torture of any prisoner regardless of legal status and curse the treaties that make it illegal.

If the Bush era has brought us nothing else, it at least curb-stomped any dreams of establishing the Cheney family as a political force.

I actually almost feel sorry for her. She really thought Daddy's influence would jump-start her into a cereer in elected office, but the name turned out to be an albatross around her neck instead.

I seriously DOUBT what you say is true.

FIRST, what do YOU consider "torture"?

Opinions, surely. Actions, however... Japanese POW camp commanders were strongly in favor of waterboarding and we hanged them for it.

Thank God for that.

I don't feel the slightest bit sorry for her. She is just as cold-hearted and calculating as her father. She got what she deserved when she tried to use Daddy's besmirched name to buy a Senate seat. Now if only Daddy would get what he deserves...

No one was tortured, a few really, really bad guys were water boarded to attain valuable information to save American lives. obama is against anything that might save an American life. He hates America and Americans, and he hates all you tools who are ignorant enough to still support him. You are pawns who he uses and laughs at, just as does any good con man laugh at his victims. You should all have S, for sucker tattooed on your foreheads..
Now go live with yourselves...
What the hell are they putting in the water in Apple Valley? "Despicable in almost everything he does" seriously? Some people have legitimate gripes with Obama's policies while others are blinded by pure hate.

Water boarding is torture! Period! The US government in its witch hunt clearly crossed the line in certain areas. If we shouldn't abide by the Geneva Convention, we shouldn't be a party to it... Plain and simple...

Default Liz Cheney: Obama "Despicable" For Admitting America Used Torture

Little Loudmouth Liz shows her true colors here.

Her father's torture program wasn't the problem. Revealing is what's such a tragedy.

More revealing is the workings of her small psychotic self-centered mind. She gets it honestly, though.

Liz Cheney: ‘Despicable’ Obama slanders ‘patriots’ when he admits to post-9/11 torture

Isn't it sweet how she defends her Daddy's use of torture so enthusiastically? (There definitely is something "despicable" here, Liz. Look in a mirror for a clue of what that might be.)

And talk about hypocrisy. She goes on a tirade, accusing the president of making those comments to "change the subject" from other things happening in the country, when, in fact, Obama was responding to the U.S. Senate report that is about to be released wherein the use of torture is not disputed. And she was a guest on the show to discuss that very report.

Talk about trying to change the subject--she did that very well, steering the conversation away from the disastrous report on her father's regime's use of torture as fast as her despicable little mouth could manage it.
Now, could they please have a report on how wasteful the TSA is?
