Speaking with guest-host Monica Crowley on the Fox’s Hannity, Liz Cheney, daughter of the former Vice President Dick Cheney, called President Barack Obama a “disgrace” and “despicable” for admitting that America tortured detainees following the attack on 9/11.
Isn't it sweet how she defends her Daddy's use of torture so enthusiastically? (There definitely is something "despicable" here, Liz. Look in a mirror for a clue of what that might be.)
.
She should have done public relations for the Nazis. Just don't admit what you did-that's her key.
If you believe they are dangerous you can still grant them a trial.
But you would whine that it was not fair because they were not there. Tell the truth, would you consider an American that has join the terrorists as still having the same rights as a loyal citizen or would you remove the threat before they can do any or more damage? Once you align yourself with those that would kill countless innocent Americans you give up any rights you have a citizen. I am all for arresting them and putting them on trial and then hanging them once found guilty, but if that is not one of the possibilities then you are left with either allowing them to act freely and killing loyal American citizens or when the opportunity arises you deal with the enemy in what ways you can, which we did.
If the Bush admin had treated the GITMO detainees exactly the sme as most countries in the world treat their own domestice criminals, the same people would be cliaming that teratment by the Bushadmin would amount to torture.
What one person thinks is torture, will not always be the same as another person, even is both people are reding the same definition.
McCain was tortured.
We made a few terrorists uncomfortable.
Obviously you have never been waterboarded. A couple people talking like you have gone on about how they would be willing to be waterboarded to demonstrate that. The vast majority have not done so. The ones that have done so immediately changed their minds and declared it was torture.
Since when is acknowledging the truth (we did torture prisoners as part of out anti terrorist of policy) despicable. What is despicable is the entire anti terrorist effort. It cost too much and did not work. Just an expensive feel good absurdity.

And it is no wonder american society has crumbled ever since. Economically, socially, diplomatically,
When we expose our flaws, we show the world that we are strong enough and honest enough and honorable enough to expose ourselves. Fear is what drives people to "STAY QUIET". Americans are not driven by fear. And we don't torture our enemies. Torture is for people who are driven by fear. Americans are not driven by fear.
Thank you for saying this.
It seems all too often lately that as a country we are driven by nothing but irrational fears that sap all of our energy and forestall any positive efforts to address the real issues.
Strong countries do not torture. They do not act from insecurity or blind hatred.
There is no justification for devolving to the level of the animals who would do us harm.
We are better than that.
