How much illegal immigration do you have into Canada?
Canada kicks the illegals out. They don't even let the legal ones stay if they get too sick too soon. And, the people they let in have to qualify. They don't have any of this stupid family immigration BS that we do.

All nations change. There is no nation on earth that hasn't been able to keep outsiders out in history.
Who knows if losing the white population majority will be 'good' or 'bad'? We are already different than how it was in my Grandfather's day, or my parent's day. White minorities who immigrated here in the millions 100 years ago changed the United States forever in equally long-lasting and profound changes, and we came to accept those changes.
That's what we do best. We have never been a race of purebreds and we never will be. This is our greatest strength, not a weakness. We always get the boldest and the ones who are strong enough to leave. Good genetics for continued future strength.
But, if someone is worried their white skin's privileges will disappear, then it's time to get busy and have a lot of children. Whining about it won't change a thing.
That's a factor and it was one that we accepted. Cheap labor makes employers happy and cheap prices makes customers happy. My point is, nobody was forced and nobody is prevented from going to another country. Now, entitlement are an issue, but that is separate from the color of someones skin.
Lycos, what you're saying is that the rich people on both sides (politicians and business people) want to bring cheap labor here to benefit themselves at everyone else's expense. The rich person's children go to private schools, aren't competing for low-skill jobs, or working outside their fields because they were promised STEM would be a good bet only to find out high tech and research companies want to increase H1B visas to lower wages in those fields to the point where the American graduate can't afford to take the job and pay back student loans.
Since I myself can't go enforce the border and must rely on politicians to do so, it is something that was forced on me. And another thing, it's not so easy to pick up and go to another country. They have to grant you that privilege, and other countries are much more strict on who gets to come over there.

If you have seen the changes that have happen via immigration both legal and illegal they have not been positive.
Have you seen the legal immigrates we have taken, not all of them are the best and brightest and we dont need more then 250,000 coming into this nation every year?
Why not take 250,000 of the best of the best of the best?

I'm proud to be a citizen of a nation so many strive to become part of, even at a risk of life itself. That is our greatest asset.

Isnt the bold what you should be doing, i mean, this is your thread and that is the concept you are arguing in favor of.
doesn't mean it's "my" nation more than anyone else's.
It isn't about what people look like, its about what will their political affiliation be? What emphasis or care will they have on the founding principles of the nation like the constitution and bill of rights? Coming from nations and culture in south and central Americas that are corrupt and "socialist" will they support and vote to turn America that way? Will they support doctrine and politics that favors their motherland over America when the are the majority and in political power?
These are the issues that I worry about. Because with limited immigration with rules people can assimilate but a mass influx with no rules creates a different scenario.
