Its possible. From the story she had asked if it was right to be banned from saying "bless you" when someone sneezed. I'll bet it isn't next week.

My atheist husband says "gesundheit" which means "health" in German seeing it usually is a sign of illness coming on.
The Romans use to say "Jupiter preserves you" lol I wonder if that would get detention.
I say bless you because it is an old habit from something I learned when I was a child yet it has no religious meaning to me.

You are not familiar how a no talking rule works. A student can talk when the teacher acknowledges their raised hand. I don't know how this specific situation went, but that is what I know from when I was in school.

You just did it above. She got in trouble for saying a banned word not actually for talking. The list will likely come down.

So then why defend her actions, it wasnt a genuine bless you, she just wanted to be disruptive in class.

based on the article(and a google search), the sneeze itself might have been fake.
