What Nature will do is eventually have starvation and disease overwhelm the ability of man to deal with it. This will result in a rather dramatic population reduction.
As believers in evolution, which I assume all hippie socialist collectivist Luddites to be, you folks do know how evolution deals with over-population coupled with lack of resources, right? Hint - it doesn't go well for the slow and the weak.
Printing money and giving it away can only accomplish so much. Why? Because money is only a medium of exchange. It cannot feed you, satisfy thirst or cure sickness. Food must be grown/harvested/butchered. Water must be made potable. Medicine must be manufactured. People do that with what resources are available, and all the money printing in the world will never make veggies grow faster, or water purify itself.
Eventually, a population exceeds the ability of its environment to support it, and that population gets reduced. Humans are not special in this regard, we just think we are. So my advice to the slow and the weak is to hit the gym and get faster and stronger, because evolution and progress are cruel freaking mistresses.
Idea, maybe we can train people for jobs that need to be performed, you know like maintaining all that wonderful automated equipment. Come on people every new technology brings new jobs with it meaning many low skilled workers can be trained into skilled jobs and while serving a purpose they also improve their own lot on life and ends the cycle of assistance for some and their families.
Banks used to employ full time armies of reasonably skilled bank tellers and audit staff to support them. They were paid middle class wages and benefits. Direct deposit, ATMS, debit and credit cards and online banking have made most of those jobs obsolete. It also created new opportunities but not anywhere near that scale that once existed.
On the other hand, not that long ago, the concept of Social Media did not exist and look at how that has changed the world and created jobs. True and rare innovators and the venture capitalists that fund them, don't get bogged down in the minutia of blaming big bad government or temporary glitches.
I cannot begin to imagine what has not yet been imagined, that will change life as we know it and create new opportunities.

The purpose of inheritance tax is to maintain some sort of reasonable balance between those fortunate enough to be born into money versus not.
Should I come into wealth one day, and decide to leave it all to my son, why should he have to give a piece of it to the government? That inheritance is meant for HIM, and not to be distributed by the government as they see fit!
If I was young I would look into drone and robot repair. I wonder in the very near future if we will see ads on TV for that type of training like we do with auto repair, etc. Just think of how much a person would be worth that could fix any problem on a robot on site.
The typical auto repair mechanic is substantially dependent upon ever changing technology.
Robots fix robots.
Having said this, getting in on the ground floor of drone technology is not a bad idea.
I don't have the aptitude for something like that. I have said before, if I were young and in need of a job with a future, I would seek out chaos. I am good with people and am into process reengineering. Walmart comes to mind.

I always use the example of the switchboard operator and typing pool secretary. Both jobs have been made obsolete, and that's like 2 million workers whose jobs simply disappeared. Did they all die? Did they vanish into thin air? Or did they get retrained into other things and make a living doing something else?
Progress happens, and it is cruel to those who are slow, weak and unmotivated. That is not a new phenomenon, and is as old a story as civilization itself. New opportunites open up all the time, all around us. hell, what I do for a living didn't really exist 15 years ago, and now it's a very seriously prized skill set in the corporate world. What I used to do for a living (solid state electronic bench tech) is damn near obsolete anymore, minus your occasional TV repair shop.
The world changes constantly. Get onboard with that, or get left behind. It's a choice in this country, period.
No, what they did was implement a maternity program that pays women for each kid they have. I think it is $10K/kid up to 2. They are talking about extending it to three kids.
Okay, that's in addition to their stance on homosexuality, or did I misunderstand the reporting on that issue during the Olympics? I thought in the past the Russians were more tolerant of homosexuals until Putin started this new program to increase population.
So, they're paying people to have kids? I wonder if you can raise a child in Russia on $10K. Are they going to encourage them to keep their children now instead of putting them in orphanages? I had a friend who adopted a child from Russia, and the treatment of the kids in those orphanages was horrendous. She managed to get a 6-month old who had never been out of her crib, had rickets, was malnourished, and dehydrated. I know she had other issues, but the mom already expected all that stuff and our local children's hospital has a department that deals with the health issues of children adopted from foreign countries.
Your low skilled workers can't fix tech today and you think they will all become electronic experts in the future fixing circuitry of robots ? LOL
They'd be lost today if those cash registers didn't tell them how much change to give you.
