So, lets get this straight, you say this business is doing such a great job, then when someone says something about not raising minimum wage to $15, you ***** cause these people are not getting paid enough...

You really cannot make this crap up....

QT is my preffered place for gas/Milk etc as well. They are almost always cleaner than the competition and are very well lit. Great that they treat their employees so well! I believe Costco is up there too.

I've noticed that it seems a tad pricier than other similar chains, but i'm more than willing to pay a few cents more for the cleanliness and variety of merchandise stocked...especially the soft drinks. And the staff is extremely professional.

I started frequenting these stores after i read a 2011 piece on how well they pay and treat their employees. But i noticed that the piece seemed to have at least a small degree of skepticism relative to how long such a business model could last.

Well here we are in 2014, and the company is doing just as well if not better. Here's an excerpt from the piece:

Wow...imagine that. Sounds SO COMPLICATED, right? Have a clean and courteous business with good products and a well trained staff... Treat employees well, pay them a good wage with the promise of more opportunities ahead, and they'll be loyal, won't turnover very often, thereby saving you money and making you profitable.

Yeah i know..."these people are unskilled and should realize that these are entry level jobs and these profits should be returned to stockholders blah, blah, blah"....i can hear it now from the typical corporate shills on CD. But whatever.

Anyway...here's the link:

If they were in Pennsylvania, I would definitely support them.

Treating your employees well can only help a company and in turn the community where the company is located.

Other companies should watch places like QT, Wegmans, Costco and HEB, among others, for the way to financial and ethical success.

I love them because they have all the flavors of Pellegrino...and Faygo Redpop.

No one else in Arizona carries that stuff on a regular basis.

Somehow I suspect a large percentage of minimum wage WalMart/Fast Food type employees wouldn't make it thru the first interview at QT.

I've had similar experiences at Kum n Go's with regards to service and products.

Nah...better to hire lames, pay them practically nothing, treat them like crap have a 100% employee turnover and no upward mobility...That's the best way to run a business.

(Heavy sarcasm)

But yes..I agree with you totally.
