Denials that race doesn't play a role in what is well-regarded within society are naive. As much progress as has been made, society is still rife with a pattern of racial bias in practically all of its institutions. Reasonable people can disagree about what is to be done about it, but to refuse to acknowledge the problem is ridiculous.

IF he really had any interest in so-called 'equality' he'd be calling for positions to be filled by the most qualified people, regardless of their race, religion, ethnicity, etc.
It is no longer OK that white males dominate anything, since white males are not superior to anyone. It is not right that white males control the Oscar nominations, and refuse to acknowledge the superior work of others who are not white, simply because they want to pacify their own and themselves.
Rev Sharpton stands for PROGRESS in this area, shedding light on the absurdity of this nonsense, that has been going on since Slavery. Kudos to Rev. Sharpton and what he stands for. His superior position in this area, fighting racism by whites against black people, is a noble cause, one that is superior to anything Conservatives and bigots stand for.
He makes bigots uncomfortable and this is good.
