People just choose to whine about every little thing.

Frankly, I have a bigger issue with the rush to open movies in the last couple of weeks of a year just so that they can be eligible. "Selma" falls into this category, as does "American Sniper" and several others.
If it were up to me, no movie that opened after October would be eligible. So there.

I was thrilled that the Academy didn't forget "The Grand Budapest Hotel" considering that it opened way back in March of last year.
I think that not nominating Ralph Fiennes was a bigger snub than overlooking "Selma" but, I am really rooting for Michael Keaton.

Well... that's liberal Hollywood for you.

Do you get it now, African Americans? Democrats/liberals are your oppressors.

Many of you know the public school stats I've posted. I'll post them again upon request.

And really...who cares? It's a freaking movie!
Al Sharpton will be along shortly. Obvious discrimination here.

Rev Sharpton stands for PROGRESS in this area, shedding light on the absurdity of this nonsense, that has been going on since Slavery. Kudos to Rev. Sharpton and what he stands for. His superior position in this area, fighting racism by whites against black people, is a noble cause,
Noble? Not so much. Profitable? Yes, quite clearly

What do bigots like Sharpton stand for? Making millions and avoiding income taxes like Sharpton?

Are you a Saul Alinsky follower, or just an unwitting person being sarcastic, yet still helping his cause?

Yet another "I love Al Sharpton" thread started by a conservative.

No one gives a blip about Sharpton except some of you right wringers.

I just re-read my post and I see that it wasn't clear that I was referring to this: Sharpton being specifically pissed about the snub of Selma's Director, Ava DuVernay.

It's the Director's branch who votes for Best Director - so it's only about 400 people who partake in that nomination. (ETA: 377 according to one of your articles - and if you have 63 votes, your nomination is secured.)

This is, without a doubt, one of the least pressing issues of our day.

All this does is minimize the value of the nominations for EVERYONE.

What a stupid waste of time.
