1. Most of us don't care what Sharpton says or thinks. He is irrelevant.
2. Most of us don't know or care who wins oscars, emmys, bennies or barfies and what color their skin is.
But it's fun to watch these two groups fight like kids since they have at least one characteristic in common; they have an inflated sense of their self worth.
Denials that race doesn't play a role in what is well-regarded within society are naive. As much progress as has been made, society is still rife with a pattern of racial bias in practically all of its institutions. Reasonable people can disagree about what is to be done about it, but to refuse to acknowledge the problem is ridiculous.
Who really cares. Obviously there were not any actors of color that put up as good of a performance as those that are nominated. Does Al forget that last year the best picture award went to 12 years a slave, when it wasn't even the best of the bunch?
