Keep in mind that RT has a reason to try to portray even the US as being on the verge of breaking up. The intent is to make it seem "normal" and how things are no better in the US than in Russia blah blah blah.
They also love running articles on US poverty, riots, etc. Whatever they can do to make Russia's problems seem universal and thus just something that happens and not Russia's own failings.
That propaganda is specifically designed to staunch the outflow of young Russian talent to the west, something that has plagued them since the 90's.
Nah, Alaska has oil and there is enough space so that nobody has to even have a neighbor if they do not want one.
Hawaii OTOH- Expel them from the Union with all due haste!
Better yet, sell them to Russia.
you cant sell what you don't own
"Native Hawaiians currently face a significant legal paradox. When Hawai'i became a U.S. territory, it was by a unilateral act of Congress, not by purchase, treaty, conquest or consent. In light of this historic fact, many Hawaiian groups, in the 104 years that have passed since annexation, have advocated for self-determination and some form of independence from the United States. Self-determination became more elusive when, in 1959, Hawai'i became the 50th state of the U.S"
Also the comments: "the article's talk page says that Barnes is part of an "Alaskan indepedance (sic) movement NGO". My firsthand familiarity with that movement dates to the late 1970s; I can assure you that he's not a part of it. Doing a Google search, however, indicates that the tribal council in Tununak (through Barnes) is attempting an approach similar to what Joe Vogler did during the last years of his life, namely petitioning the UN. He's certainly not involved with the politics of Alaska, which is an impression one would develop by looking at the article's title and its inclusion in Category:Alaska politicians (Category:Alaska Native activists would have been a more appropriate category). "
The guy is suspected as a fraud. It's funny that RT gives him press the same week the U.S. starts to make-nice with Russia after two years of a chill, post-Snowden.
hanks for the post... I like RT as a source. good info, from there I fact check.
Who is Robin Danner?
"Robin Danner's connection to Arctic Power has yet to be fully explained. When asked if she has ever been financially compensated for efforts on behalf of drilling in the Refuge done by her through the Council she responded, “The answer is clearly no, I have not done any lobbying through CNHA.”

" Nearly 40,000 people signed Kue petitions opposing annexation in 1897. The U.S. went ahead and annexed the islands in 1898, five years after businessmen backed by U.S.-Marines overthrew the Hawaiian monarchy."
Take your pitiful blathering, your attitudes, your faux Ohana, and your Racism and get the hell out.
Nobody gives a crap about your legal paradox. Not even other Hawaiians.
Thank you for your comment, most of what I post Is the history as well as legal point of views.
Pitiful blathering.... call it what you want I call it education, too many people don't know the true history of Hawaii, Nor can I post this in the Hawaii forum.

The bottom line is that as bad as parts of the US media can be....RT is no different that the old Russian news station printing exactly what the government wants said.
The free press in Russia, if you care, has been beaten down under Putin with many killings of journalists and papers being shut down.
Heck, have you seen the footage of Putin making a finger gun-shooting motion to an Italian reporter while meeting with Berlesconi? It wasn't well received by the Italian press. The reporter had asked about Putin's wife being sent to a monastery and his new girlfriend the Olympic gymnast.
