States with highest gun violence / Demographics

10. Tennessee - 81% White / 2% Hispanics population
9. New Mexico - 39% White / 47% Hispanics
8. Oklahoma - 67% White / 9.6% Hispanics
7. Wyoming - 84% White / 9.7% Hispanics
6. Arkansas - 73% White / 6.9% Hispanics
5. Montana - 87% White / 3% Hispanics

1. Alaska - 62% White / 7% Hispanics

California, which isn't even in the Top 10 in Gun Violence or "Most Dangerous State" has a demographic of: 39% White / 38% Hispanics
If you want to see the correlation compare crime rate by county, then compare the counties to who voted for Obama and who voted for Romney in 2012.

For more information break down crime stats by race and age. Thankfully the FBI does that for us already.

If you actually wanted the truth, it is easy to find, instead we get silly nonsense.

Why isn't CA in top 10? Or TX? They have HIGH numbers of Illegals.

To get all Racist people here and trick them into being disappointed that the statistics doesn't back their bias.

All of the young black males are being killed by whitey? That is not what the FBI statistics show. The statistics are well explained by Thomas Sowell in his book "Black Rednecks and White Liberals".

it's too bad that you couldn't understand what the "statistics" in this "report" were saying ...

most of the gun-caused fatalities were not due to aggressor on victim violence, which is the conclusion you pulled out of the misleading headline of the article.

In fact, it states the suicide was the leading death result from firearm use.

Specifically:

"In three states — Alaska, Montana, and Wyoming — suicide accounted for more than 80% of all firearm deaths."

You can pull the white/other race demographics out of the article, but they aren't supporting your phony topic nor the conclusions that you've drawn from the article.

Epic Fail. Yours.

PS: the highest rates and numbers of aggressor on victim violence are in places like New Orleans and Chicago. Well documented, well publicized ... you get to read about the number of murders and firearms assaults in these cities almost on a weekly, if not often a daily basis.

How is that a victory for you? We know from research that people are more likely to kill themselves when there is easy access to a gun. I'm not sure I'd be bragging about that as a feature of gun ownership.

All that showing the races does is demonstrate that Hispanic or White racial makeup does not correlate with gun violence. I agree with you that there's no need for races to be posted.

However, the rest of your post supports the OP. Suicide is categorized as gun violence. In fact, it's criminal gun violence.

I wouldn't call the post an Epic Fail just because additional information (race) was included.
