Nope. I believe anyone we welcome here should be properly verified as to not be a threat. Security specialist seem to agree that the refugees do pose a significant risk.
You have to wonder when Muslim countries don't want anything to do with these refugees.
There is a difference between saying that the US will not accept any refugees and saying that we will only accept Christian refugees. Just because someone is a Christian does not eliminate the possibility that they would be a threat or a terrorist.
What Obama said is not what you are claiming he said.
"And when I hear folks say that, well, maybe we should just admit the Christians but not the Muslims, when I hear political leaders suggesting that there would be a religious test for which person who's fleeing from a war-torn country is admitted, when some of those folks themselves come from families who benefited from protection when they were fleeing political persecution, that's shameful," he said, his voice rising. "That's not American. That’s not who we are. We don’t have religious tests to our compassion."
Islam is more than a religion, as it will replace the governments in the countries it infiltrates, so it really doesn't apply. People like Obama revel and praise Islam in spite of Islamic countries being extreme and very undemocratic from non Muslims. He doesn't seem to do that for his own religion does he?

How many Christian groups do you see on this list of of Terrorist organizations around the world? How many Christians move here and then go back and join ISIS or some Somalian terrorist groups? None.

You are correct, but lets face facts. Christians aren't known the world over for terrorist acts. Nor are Buddhists or Hindus.
That said until we take care of our own homeless problem we have no business providing homes to anyone else.
Exactly, and distorting it is--shameful. He is right. The founders did not intend for America to be led by any religion. No matter how you try and twist it, the founders understood religion had no place in creating or enforcing national policy. They had seen the corruption first hand.
A challenge for conservatives, take the REAL quote above and find error with what he really said. A religious test isn't American and hypocrisy is shameful. You might not enjoy having your bigotry exposed, but a spade is a spade.
It doesn't address the issue. People are concerned about the possibility of our bringing radical, violent kooks into this country. He doesn't address those concerns at all and just mouths platitudes about "that's not who we are" and the like. In other words, it's a typical Barack Obama "argument."
This is the problem with the Obama haters. They do not hear what he actually has said. They make it up as they go in order for it to fit their agenda.
He said it is shameful to have religious tests for people coming into the country. And it is.
Here is the problem with the O-cult: they ignore his poor leadership and applaud his divisiveness.
When "he hears"... from who? Someone on the Internet? The state's/governors specify a country; not a region or religion.
He has no reason to make such statements except to ridicule, divide, and prop himself up.
He is cherry-picking something someone said in his usual attempts to make others look bad and prop himself up. It's disingenuous. He is the shameful one.
The governors are wanting to block specifically from Syria -- a specific country, not a general region or religion -- because of this Paris attack.
On refugees, Cruz laid out a religious test — he said the US should only accept Christian refugees.
"President Obama and Hillary Clinton's idea that we should bring tens of thousands of Syrian Muslim refugees to America is nothing less than lunacy," he said. "It makes no sense whatsoever for us to be bringing in refugees who our intelligence cannot determine if they are terrorists here to kill us or not. Those who are fleeing persecution should be resettled in the Middle East and majority Muslim countries. Now, on the other hand, Christians who are being targeted for genocide or persecution, Christians who are being beheaded or crucified, we should be providing safe haven to them."
So according to Cruz Kurds, who by the way are also "being targeted for genocide or persecution...", can be our boots on the ground, but should not be allowed to seek refuge to the United States. Most Kurds are not Christian.

What's wrong with that? Muslims should stay in muslimland and straighten out their muslim problem and not come here.

Obama doesn't seem to do what for his own religion?
