Occupying a federal building in the middle of nowhere is and act dangerous to human life? Better notify BLM and Holder to arrest himself.
Excuse me? I happen to live in "the middle of nowhere" myself. Those thugs could just have easily come out here to ranching and farming country in western Colorado and occupied a small national monument that is located about 2 miles SW of my farmhouse. If I do a quick mental count there are at least 100 people (mostly farmers and their families) living within a 5 mile radius. If a gang of "militia" from out of state decided to show up in our county for some reason of their own and pretended to speak for everyone who lives here, I would be very angry and yes - ultimately terrified if the situation continued. If this were either the summer or fall, I would be horrified to have a pack of criminals advocating arson camped a mere 2 miles away across the alfalfa fields from me. Toss out a match in a dry season and the mix of native plants and juniper/pinion trees plus fields full of drying hay bales would go up like a tinder box. What? Only people who live in New York City get to be protected while those of us who live out here growing the nation's food are of no consequence? Your statement is incredibly ignorant and dismissive and it makes me more angry the longer I think about it.
And I just heard on the news that 7,000 people live in the county in which the wildlife refuge is located.
You're really stretching to differentiate these Vanilla ISIS types from the original ISIS types.
You don't have to stretch in order to differentiate what you call Vanilla ISIS types from the originals. Simply watch a beheading video or read about the Paris attacks and the differences are apparent.
They're getting down to the last crumbs in their bag of Tactical Survival Doritos and desperately reaching out to draw in two categories:
1) Deranged meth head 'Timothy McVeigh' types in search of violence who can scrounge up transportation off to the middle of nowhere. And hopefully some hellacious scary weaponry. These types are distinguishable by their tooth to tattoo ratio.
and
2) More sensible but thoroughly disgruntled men, many of them veterans, who can be lured by dramatic videos of 'patriots' sending out videos of themselves bidding farewell to family and civilisation -- voice trembling with emotion, but steely eyes studiously steadfast -- who can't quite bring themselves to wholeheartedly commit to the whole blaze of glory scene, but who can load up a cooler with beer and beef jerky to ditch the old lady and kids, and venture out across country in support of fellow 'patriots'. But they can camp prudently and legally outside the Redneck Caliphate. ie, the 'Last Hurrah', sentimentalist 'sagebrush sunset' types. These are distinguishable by old fatigue jackets that no longer button over the beer belly. Many of them, sadly, are probably honorable, if confused and naive, people.
That was beautiful, if not hauntingly true. The T/t (Tooth to tattoo ratio).. laughed for a few minutes.
They forgot the tactical bacon? Major strategic mistake.
