Are women not as happy from expecting to maintain a perfect house and a career, which is hard to achieve. Hence why the average working women works about 200 hours less a year than her male counterpart in the same job - so she can stay home with the sick kid, make a dinner, etc...
Who said anything about the RIGHT to manage a home? Well no one did except YOU. Thanks for showing your true colors....to people like you women aren't truly "free" unless they are forced to work in the workforce because being a mother and wife isn't real work eh? Such a misogynistic view....disgusting. My grandmothers and my wife's grandmothers were tougher women than ANY woman I know today other than my wife simply because she was raised by tough strong women. They didn't need a MAN telling them they needed to work to be "free"
You have no idea what misogyny is dear. There is nothing wrong with a woman staying home if that is what she wants to do. Everyone should do what makes them happy. The difference is that now a woman has the freedom of choice to decide what she wants to do. In the 50's, not so much.
She was happy with what she got. She was VERY active in politics in the community,PTA,etc....only modernized woMEN act like being a mother and wife isn't good enough. Fortunately I got one of the good sane ones. She loves being a mother and wife. She says its the greatest thing in the world to do she truly ENJOYS IT. Love how people of today think women of the past were soooo oppressed. Such nonsense. They are more oppressed today when you really have no choice but to work because it costs so much to make ends meet.
Well, good for your wife. She made choice. Something that women in the '50s didn't have.
For the record, I have no problem with women who make this choice. Good for them. The operative word, of course, is choice.
Did you ever wonder if your grandmother had any dreams of her own? You know, for herself, not related to a husband and kids? Not that it mattered, because as a woman, her life choices were very narrow.
The I-405/I-10 interchange was designed by Marilyn Reece in 1964.
The leftists hate it when a woman today chooses to be a mother and raise her kids. They even have a derogatory name for it - "stay at home mom" - as if there is something wrong with forgoing a career to teach your children values and the basics of life in the most nurturing environment - a home where the mother is the heart and the father is the head.
You don't know us very well if you think that. Feminism groups I'm in are filled with *Gasp* stay at home moms, as well as working ones, and ones in school. We believe in choice and not set roles on what you should or should not do in life. The only ones that seem to have a love affair with women being limited in options come from areas of the Country that wish it was still 1947. Chiming in with old chestnuts like "When women were women and men were men."
The difference is that now a woman has the freedom of choice to decide what she wants to do.
Not really. Now a woman, unless she's pretty enough to find a super-rich husband, doesn't have the option to stay home and raise kids. And how many people, male or female, truly have the "option" to have a satisfying career? Maybe 5%.
