Just to be fair. Given the complexity of the law, nobody in USA can honestly say that he or she is 100% innocent. We could be all guilty of something. There's also federal conspiracy to commit statue which basically covers whatever they want to charge us.

The thing is that he was the witness, not the accused, and he pleaded the 5th to eliminate any possibility of someone twisting his words to incriminate him. So, now he has immunity, so he can say anything he wants without any possibility of being incriminated for anything. It is called "witness immunity".
