1. Trump has never had a net positive approval rating in the two years he has been in the Oval Office.
2. Obama who is constantly attacked by the right did have a positive approval rating for more of his presidency than not.
3. George W. Bush had a positive approval rating for more of his presidency than he did not.
4. The old conservative saw that "you can't trust the polls" has gotten old. I remember all the Trump folks who claimed the polls were wrong and the GOP would win a "resounding victory" in the congressional elections. We all know how that went. The GOP lost 40 seats and control of the House in one bad evening.

Trump isn't a well liked president and if his supporters were honest they would admit that and try and go from there. A wise man would actually look at what he is doing to offend people and would try to fix it. No chance with Trump. He goes out of his way to offend people that he doesn't need to offend.

Today's ratings are really bad. Even Rasmussen (the president's favorite poll) has him with an anemic 43% approval rating. Gallup has him at 37% and CNN has him at 37% too. Reuters has him at 40% The average approval rating for all the polls is at 41% today. This is not the stuff that reelection is made of.

Trump's presidency is sinking slowly because he decided to shut the government down to get his pet project (the wall) through Congress. Congress isn't biting and its clear the public blames Trump much more than them for the shut down.

It isn't pretty. I wouldn't want to be in the GOP right now.
Do approval ratings mean anything?

I work in the insurance industry - consistently one of the most profitable industries in the history of the world, and consistently one of the most hated

We get it - you hate Trump and that will never change

My suggestion - finding something other than a president to base your morality and source of happiness on

Yeah, where did you hear that? From MSNBC?

"Last I read." That is the problem... you will find many different facts on different sites. In fact, you will pretty much find what you are looking for if you search enough. But is it accurate?

Over there! Squirrel! Squirrel!

Buddy, Bill Clinton was in office 25 years ago! What happened that far back has nothing at all to do with Trump's troubles now. There are 2 generations of young people who don't know a thing about Clinton nowadays.

If you want to deflect away from your Orange King, better use something more recent than this.

It is well known to all (even you, if you claim to be informed) that Trump opposed Russian sanctions, tried to get the previously existing ones lifted, and delayed implementing the new ones which originated in congress over Trump's objections.

I hesitate to call you a liar, so I won't, but I then do wonder how well informed you are.
"He did no such thing?" It depends where you got that info from.

Exactly what has Trump done to make him a Putin "puppet?"

When all else fails, yell "liar!"

It's in all the news about how Trump's Mnuchin is trying to defend lifting sanctions on Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska.

If you aren't allowed to do an internet search, here are a couple sites to get you up to speed.

You have been given fact checkable links so it's obvious you cannot possibly be serious and instead you are merely jerking chains for some kind of oddball kicks and giggles.

Trump's approval rating could be near zero and it would not matter to him...all fake news. Just ask him. His ideas, values, behaviors, and motivations are as if he was from another planet or subspecies. Everything exists for his personal aggrandizement in his low-life view. He has never been held personally accountable for anything in his entire life. He is a man without sin in his own mind...to put it in theological terms. His cultists have fallen into his web and can't see him for what he really is...a con man out for himself.

He keeps pushing the envelope on how much he can get away with without getting squashed like a bug. That comment he made about shooting someone without any negative consequences from his base is a telling remark. It's almost like he wants to get hammered. His lackey apologists simply enable him to keep going without any negative retribution.
