Why is the said child molester be let out of prison? Would he or she not molest children not in school?

Sorry, that should have said state or federal agency. A local police department broke the law, last time I checked, you can still buy and own guns in New Orleans, so this gun ban you speak of is nothing more than nonsense from cops who broke the law. No different than cops who murder innocent people.

I imagine you can at least agree that we should be holding our police forces to a much higher standard than we currently are.

People who have rights, need no permission.
People who need permission, have no rights.

Which people have a right to life and therefore the right to defend that life with whatever weapon they deem necessary?
Which people have no right to life and need permission of their master?

Served their time in prison, same as convicted felons serving their time being denied gun ownership.

If they already served their time, why the fuss? They paid their debt, no?

The reality is hardly anybody serves more than 1/3 of their sentences.

It's certainly more than nonsense, they violated multiple Constitutionals right retained by the people (2A RKBA, 4A illegal search, 4A illegal seizure). Furthermore, the people whose rights were violated were not made whole. Their weapons were not returned, they weren't compensated, and AFAIK the NOPD didn't even publicly accept responsibility for its actions nor issue an apology.

Publicly, they are already under a microscope. Legally, they are (rightfully) held to a higher standard than civilians.
