One of the reasons for giving the BGC automatically after three days was to keep a POTUS from using an executive order and cutting off funding for the BCG checks. Or they could do that and eliminate all new permits.

If a background check for purchasing a gun is stupid, do you think a background check, and fingerprinting, is stupid to work in public schools or with the disabled population?

They are very different situations, aren't they? In one case we are afraid they may murder someone, in another case, we are afraid they may not fit the job.

Double standard?

Above the law, because they carry a gun.

The fact this actually happened shows us how dangerous the government can be. Had it not been for NRA, those people would not even get their properties back, nor would many states put in specific laws preventing this from happening.

The NRA did not get their guns back.. No one that had their arms confiscated, got them back. They never made it to any official place to store.. Those that confiscated them, kept them. With no recorded record of who took what, from who.

What double standard are you referring to? I don't think any officer should be above the law for any reason.

If a person is so dangerous that we don't trust them with a firearm, why do we even let that person walk outside of prison or hospital?

Instead, we spend billions on background check while the bad guys are happily running around, raping and murdering people with and without guns.
US Military background aren't even thoroughly done.... LOL background checks will mostly likely help but wont stop guns from getting in the wrong hands
let use CHICAGO (CHIRAQ) as perfect example bans on guns but they get them in

Or maybe a convicted child molester might molest a child in school? I suppose you could say not fit for their job.
