No......I believe law abiding people have a right to live in a society that is as free from mentality ill, criminals and terrorists as possible, so we don't have to worry about these types of people getting guns in the first place.

But Left wing policies do everything they can to make sure we have as many mentally ill people living free in society instead of institutionalized..........

As many violent criminals paroled early and voting instead of being executed or at least locked up for life......

And as many potential terrorists let into the country through refusing to acknowledge radical Islamic terrorism and endorsing open border immigration......

And the People Call BS, because the amendment has never been altered to say so.
It is still there as written, because it shall not be infringed. No amendment, or statutory law can alter it.

How has the tough on crime worked out? Seems like we got a generation or two of young men with no skills and be perennially on welfare because of our war on drugs.

Where are the conservatives plan for healthcare, especially mental healthcare?

You folks keep leading from behind and you lose your seat at the table.

It's been that way since the early 1800s. The people are an idiot then.

If the Supreme Court doesn't determine it, who does?

The second amendment does not say, No militias needed to maintain a free state, because there is now a government controlled and regulated Police State, the privilege of citizens 21 years and older, who are non-felons and mentally stable, to have the arms government allows, this may be infringed further at anytime government deems the people have become a threat to governments power, control and enslavement of the people.

The supreme court right after the civil war may have wanted it to say that, but unfortunately for them, most people can read.
I'm going to get Tee shirts with that printed on them. With GOD BLESS THE 2ND AMENDMENT.

That is what we all want. The problem is new crazies and home grown terrorists pop up all the time. Charles Whitman was not on anyone's radar when he went nuts. Micah Johnson (the Dallas sniper) had no criminal record. Adam Lanzla (Sandy Hook killer) was a kid, a bit odd but not odd enough to be labeled insane.

We don't have a machine that can look into the mind of someone and say he/she is going to go nuts and start shooting people. The alternative most countries take is severely restrict access to guns which limits the carnage, but does not stop it.

We pay a high price in this country for the 2nd Amendment right to bear arms.
