This goes well beyond "whistle blowing". Well beyond.
James Clapper lied under oath. The only way to expose that lie was to release the information.

Was Clapper ever charged with perjury?

I don't think he'll pardon snowden.

Snowden is a traitor.

Snowden may have thought he was doing the right thing in a more universal sense, but I doubt he had a love of America at heart. Ergo, he is more of a traitor/spy than a whistleblower or American hero. I mean, as a general concept, corrupt, lawbreaking leaders should be called out on it, and it's a patriotic thing to do. But if it's reasonably foreseeable that your actions could put your own countrymen in greater harm, then you're a traitor, and there's no way around it.

Nobody was put in danger quite unlike Hillary's emails.

Politicians were embarrassed at worse.

Snowden is in his own prison as a "guest" of Putin. Obama needs to take no further action.

No, he is a spy working for the Russians. He can stay wherever he is.

No.

F him.

He's a traitor to this country and I hope he enjoys living out his days in Russia once he is forgotten about and no longer relevant in a few years. I'm sure that will be a great life.

The porous borders being left open compromise our national security more than Snowden could in hundred years of leaking out information most who pay close attention already knew/know. Snowden hasn't told us much anyone with a little common sense doesn't already understand.

Funny thing how worried they seem to be about whistleblowers ala internal security - but external security measures are nearly nonexistent.

Funny thing.....ya know.
