It's fascinating that you actually think this fictional story is true.
Is it not true? And you know this how?
Are you saying that this type of activity, stealing and/or vandalizing political signs, doesn't happen? Or vandalizing of other property? I can walk 15 feet out my door onto the porch and see my neighbor's car with **** Trump keyed into the door. I can go around the corner and see another one. All in all, according to the Sheriff's Department, over 20 incidents in the last two weeks in a town of 2000 people.

Yeah, it's not true. How do I know? Because it's obvious. This whole story reeks of fiction. Cops staking out a house for.....campaign sign stealing? The OP is laying in wait with guns? Yeah, sure. But hey, don't let me rain on your parade. If believing this story makes you feel good, go ahead. Everyone needs something to believe in.
What I've found fascinating is how some respondents can justify and minimize the core issue, trespassing on private property to vandalize or steal protected political speech, because "it's just a free sign and it's supporting Trump".
What I find fascinating is that someone SUPPOSEDLY lets this happen 8 times and expects city or county resources to protect his unoccupied property while he puts another sign out, and how many think this is a good use of their tax dollars.
Get over yourselves. It isn't always about you and your rights. Sometimes it's about outright stupidity.
There is nothing in the Constitution that defends stupid.

Yup.
By the second time, I would have had my game camera out there, printed out the picture, and handed it to the police.
I would expect full prosecution, though. People who trespass and vandalize add to the tension and unsafe feeling in society and do need to face repercussions.

People have staked out their house for much less. Cops staking out a house? Depends on how much juice a person has.
You don't get out much do you? If you don't think things like this happen constantly at every election you need to get out more.
We had a Sheriff election here where every single 4X8 sign for one candidate was adorned in spray paint with "I ****ed your daughter". That was over 100 signs.

Yes dear, I know signs get stolen. I know cars get vandalized. It's called living in society. I have no idea what you're talking about with "depends on how much juice a person has". The perp is not known, so how would the so called cops know who has the juice, if that's what you mean? The story is a hilarious work of fiction. It's amusing that you're so steadfast in your belief of this fairy tale.

It's amusing that you think it's ok. What if it were Clinton signs? Dear.
You don't know what "juice" means. As I said, get out more.
I have a couple of farms about an hour from where I live. On one farm, I have a very nice house and grounds which I allow all of the "locals" to use whenever they want. Most of the people in that area are very nice.
At this location, I have now had my EIGHTH Trump sign destroyed/vandalized. There are two cops who hunt on my land, one who fishes, and another who gets wood to heat his house. I finally called the cops (I know them all) and they are simply going to wait and arrest the offender, as the signs last about 4-6 hours.
It is sad that anyone would destroy political signs, but I will take pleasure in the knowledge that the liberal doing so will not be able to vote as a result of their effort to suppress any opposition views. What kind of idiot does such a thing? I despise Hillary; however, I would never remove/destroy a Hillary sign, as such behavior is childish and absurd.
Liberalism = Fascism
Why would he not be able to vote?
